Tickets Being Returned For Public Use- Chick Fil A

Classic officials reported today in Atl that this is the first time in the 3 year existence that plenty of tickets will be available for public consumption. Since I live 30 minutes from Georgia Dome, I don't have a choice but to join some more Nega-Tigers on September 4.

While it's good for LSU fans who live near ATL and those fans who don't have season tickets, it looks terrible for LSU that they are having to return tickets because they went unsold.

This has been expected since the 2 teams were finalized for the game.

My folks ordered tickets to the game through LSU. When I called the ticket office to ask about seat locations, the lady told me that LSU had sold less than 15,000 tickets at the time and would likely have to return some of their allotment. It doesn't surprise me that UNC is having trouble selling their share.

I have been to Atlanta for SEC Championship 2001 Chic bowl vs GT and Miami. I really just do not want to go this year.

When did they order? A lot of non season ticket holders requested tickets. I requested seats over a month ago and I am 8 rows from the top of the upper level. That means they sold all lower bowl tickets(which is at least 15000) and judging by where people said their seats are in the UL, they sold at least half in the pper level. I think we sold around 25k. Pretty dang good for the opponentwe are playing. It will def be the most fans we ever brought to the ga dome for an event.
If you go to ticketmaster and try to buy, all the seats are located on the UNC side.

As to the crowd complaining about how this looks bad on us I'll ask one question. How for was the drive for the bammies?

A little over 3 hours
Compared to almost 9 for us

Exactly. I never thought we would sell out our allotment for this game. We travel pretty damn good, but not enough to fill the Georgia Dome for a season opened against UNC.

I think the Tiger fanbase is Atlanta'd out. We've been in 01, 03, 05 twice, 07, and 08.

Don't much care for College football at neutral sites.

Bama vs Clemson; Bama 202 miles from Atlanta, Clemson 124 miles from Atlanta.
Bama vs Va Tech; Bama still 202 miles from Atlanta, Va Tech 410 miles from Atlanta
LSU vs UNC; LSU 526-543 miles depending on which way you go, UNC 378 miles from Atlanta
Gee...I wonder why the difference this year.

...also consider that most Bama fans live east of T-Town(ie B-ham and the surrounding area) and the drive is even closer.

Distance isn't as much of a factor as is the opponent and the location. Dallas is about 450 miles from BR. You think there would be any leftover tickets if the game was against UT at Jerry's World?

Even with LSU's absurdly huge fanbase in Dallas I still think there would be some leftovers. That stadium fits 100k doesn't it? Oregon wouldn't be able to bring that many so we'd hafta get 70k+. That's pretty nuts for an away game.

I think the final tally is closer to 19K sold for LSU and about 15K for UNC. Of course, no clear indication that all 19,000 Tigahs will show up. Still, I hope we 'show up.' We've owned the Georgia Dome these last few years and the team needs to get the season off on the right foot. So do us fans. If you can't show for economic reasons, that's understandable, but if you're trying to send some silly protest message to the team, then grow up or go root for Auburn. We don't need you and we sure as hell don't want you.

Good points, we'd probably have sold more if it were in Chapel Hill, NC
