this..
you just take whoever of those 3 falls to you. Best spot in the draft this year...same with #4 with Rice.

I would take MJD at 2.

I love Peterson, but I just think MJD will have a better season.

its not that i dont like MJD, but the Jags feeding his the ball was so inconsistent last year. He had (4) 100 yard games. 8 of his TDs came in 3 games.

plus i think they go more to Jennings this year like they did when they had Fred Taylor.

Over/under MJD going over 300 carries again?? I say under. Either injury or more opportunities for Jennings. Jennings catches the ball better to, so watch out for him.

I see him as a top 5 RB. But thats not saying much at this point.

that's the way I'm leaning as of now

I'm sure it'll flip flop a bunch more though

i am also assuming it's a PPR league.

to land one of the top 3 RB's this year is a big deal, imo. B/c after those 3 there are lots of questions (assuming McGaheee stays in Baltimore, if not make it top 4 Rbs).

i would def draft Brees first round in a 6 pt passing TD league, but not at #3. More like 8-12.

the only 2 RB i really trust are CJ and AP.

i always look at it, do I want to win every week, or just some weeks?

I need a sure thing. I know CJ is the Titans offense pretty much. I know AP will get 18 carries a game, and all the goaline carries.

I know that MJD will give me 28 carries on a few occasions, but will also mix in 6, 10, 12 carry games, that as my #1 pick, i simply cant have. He's going to have some 3 TD games...great...but he'll have a bunch where he wont score. Couple that with his small frame, and his hard running style, and the emergence of Jennings as a decent option, I just dont know with him.

With Brees I trust him, and the system. They are going to pass no matter what. He is going to throw for a lot of yards, a lot of TDs, and low INTs. EVERY WEEK. That is the crutch i need week to week to get my team off on the right foot.

I also trust in my ability to find a RB coming back in the 2nd and later in the draft that i can build around too. RB is just a weird fricking position these days. I like MJD, but im prob taking Steven Jackson, Ray Rice, Ryan Matthews and prob Frank Gore over him.

wow.

are you basing all this on non PPR or something?

so btn those guys and Brees you have MJD at #8 on your board? What about Andre Johnson? Peyton? Rodgers?

MJD has never missed a game to injury and has been as consistant as any back in the league. Plus the dude acknowledges that he likes fantasy football and wants to produce. I wouldn't have a problem with anyone taking CJ, Peterson, or even Rice over him, but that's where I'd draw the line. If he fell to me at 5 I would shite my pants.

PPR. Steven Jackson, Frank Gore and Ray Rice are just as good, if not better in PPR. All have over 50 catches last year. Matthews is the lone horse in the stable with the best running coach in the league.

Gore and him are really a toss up to me. He has the same problem with fluctuating carries.

MJD closer to 9-10th. Im taking Manning over him, and prob Andre Johnson. DEpends on how the draft goes. Not sold on Rodgers duplicating last year yet.

Are you totally discounting that he generally gets 3-5 catches a game?

Even in non ppr, that ends up being around the 18 carries of AP.

I had MJD last year and it was aggravating at times when they didn't get him the ball. But at the end of the day, I could almost always look up there and see 10 points at least... on his worst days.

Brees is great. But you can get slightly lower production much later in the draft whereas if you wait on RB, particularly this year it seems, you'll end up with any number of guys in committees or specific roles etc.

You and I just look at it different, but I see punting on RBs early as a bad decision this year...

And he was in a 2 back system up until last year.

He is built compactly, but lets face it...he is rather small, and he runs like an Ox. He takes some hard hits. It's not like he is Chris Johnson and avoids big hits. It's bound to happen.

And he's definitely had ankle injuries that has affected his performance.

I really think they like this kid Jennings. He is going to take some pressure of MJD both in the running and passing game.
