Maybe some of yall feel me.

I watched them everyday after school since like '93. Then one day a couple years ago, they just stopped playing Simpsons on channel ten and replaced it with fricking Maury, of all shows. Now we have to wait until Sundays for the new ones. I'm not that obsessed with the show anymore, sure a little overexposure has set in, but it would be nice to watch some Simpsons after Sportscenter for a change. They syndicate shows that are not nearly as good as the Simpsons. Especially since the series is still going, Maury.. really? I'm going to write the TV station.

Meh, I'll never do that. New episodes on Fox September 26th.

It used to be one of my favorite shows years ago, now I can't stand it.

I don't remember when the turning point was, sometime when I was in high school. I think alot of the writers changed or something, it lost some of its humor.

That's a pretty good theory, you may be right. I think I just got burned out, eventually I just didn't go out of my way to catch the new episodes on Sundays. The advantage is that one day when I feel like it, I'm going to have a shite ton of "new" Simpsons episodes that I haven't seen. Like season 16 or 17 on..

Nothing beats the classic Simpsons though. I remember laughing until I cried, and then when I stopped laughing I would be like "How did they come up with something that damn clever? It's like.. that was amazing."

I can still watch episodes from time to time but the damn show is older than dirt.

Hell, Noah must have packed season 1-3 in the ark.

If some of the animals mated with those Simpsons episodes, there would be species of giraffes funnier than Dane Cook.

And yes I know giraffes can't talk.

I wouldn't say I've turned on it, but I don't look forward to new episodes anymore and don't really mind if I miss it Sunday night.

Not sure why. Just played out, most of their great writers moved on. I get the impression the show is put in the can months out, because their "topical" material seems stale now. Seems like either they're "borrowing" ideas from other shows, or the other shows are just beating them to production.

College kids that have never lived in a world without Simpsons.

Like SNL, it's tough to be cutting edge when you're an institution.

The Simpsons has sucked the last ten years and has been extremely bad the last 6-7 years. It would be awesome if they didn't show any of those episodes in syndication.

Has it really been that bad lately?

Can't be worse than King of the Hill.

Pretty sure it takes a little more than six months to produce an episode so yeah, they shoot themselves in the foot when being "topical" unless they can anticipate whether a trend will be around half a year in the future.

Clearly the show isn't what it once was; but the first eight seasons or so are still some of the funniest TV ever produced.

when I was in college I remember they replaced the 6:00 Simpsons with "In the House With LLCoolJ". LSU students called in death threats to the Fox station. :coolstorybro:

Local FOX affiliate carries it two times a day during the week. Once at 5:00PM and then again at 9:00PM with different episodes each time.

Right now they're showing Summer of 4 Ft. 2, a 1996 episode.

King of the Hill comes on at 5:30 and 9:30.

KOTH should have been cancelled just for having Peggy as a character.

Comes on at least twice a day in my area. Share some of the sentiments of the other posters about the show losing its steam over the years. Regardless, I still like it and I know that if there's nothing else on I can always catch a Simpsons episode.

I liked KOTH as well, but thought they did the right thing ending the series.
