IMO its the running game. If we get the running game going and rule the TOP, we don't need to rely so much on the passing game and thus take pressure off the QBs. This will also give the defense a longer time to rest and better plan for containment of Cam Newton. Now that we have a solid FB, I think we will be able to run all over Auburn. The risk of turnovers in this game will be costlier than any game before now so trying to air it out may not be the best idea.

Auburn's biggest wekness is the secondary. If we can't air it out, we won't be successful running.

Yes and with one or two starters out for the LSU game it makes it that much more critical we get JL off.

Stop the run, pass to set up the run = nice win

throwing the ball successful early....as soon as JL gets in the game, whenever that is.

Auburn's overall D, regardless of whether it's the run or the pass, is pretty blah. Pass to set up the run, imo.....

The key is the replay booth.
Remember this.
We have a distinct disadvantage.

Who is this fb you speak of? I hope you're not talking about Copeland, who has a total of a half against McNeese.

Speed kils, the more we get the ball to our speed guys and make them chase will wear them down.

ANd our speed on defense should take over b the second qtr after all the adrenaline wears off.

So our overall better team speed should win out.

Newton will make plays, we just have to keep everyone else in check.

Show up on D, and no turnovers. We cannot afford turnovers against Malzahn's squad.

Holding them to FG's, rather than touchdowns.

Newton will put up yards even against our strong defense - but denying them the end zone, and them settling for 3 several times down the field, can overcome total yardage and TOP shortfalls on our part.

Significant edge (5 minutes) in TOP and no TOs.

Turnovers. If LSU gives Auburn 2 or more touchdowns or FGs on fumbles, interceptions, muffed punts, we will in all likelihood lose the game. Minimize turnovers and penalties, we have a very strong possibility of winning. In the last 3 games, most of the other teams' points have come as a direct result of mishandling the ball.

3rd downs. Both sides. Our offense is going to have to be able to pick up key 3rd downs through the air to sustain drives and keep Cam Newton off the field. And our defense is going to have to keep Cam from ad-libbing and converting 3rd downs when he shouldn't.

now that I think about it...conditioning and a versatile lineup on D.

Gus runs the EXTREME hurry up offense, need to make sure our guys are properly hydrated and conditioned properly.

We scored 33 against a far better D in Gainesville. Our offense will just fine, whatever the gameplan is.

The refs are the biggest factor in favor of AU.

Hands down...the offense's ability to move the chains. If we don't move the ball and give our defense some kind of a rest we may be in trouble.

They can't save us forever.

The key to this game is not letting Jordan Jefferson get on the bus to go. If Miles can do that, they should hava a good chance at winning. It will then come down to clock management at the end once again. Is there a plan? Has Miles learned how to do that spikey thing? Given the history of these two teams, the last 30 seconds may determine the outcome.
