Ironic that PP7 was outpaced by Cam on play that might have clinch

..ed the Heisman for Cam (as long as he plays reasonably well the rest of the way).
That run is the kind that will get played hundreds of times as the year unfolds, and to outpace and outphysical PP7 makes it all the better (for Cam and Auburn)
PP7 sure seems to have jinxed himself ever since that Pose...
I bet Cam will strike it if he score against Bama as that is close to the Heisman voting itself..
Anyway, as it was unfolding, I was thinking that was ironic (or at least coincidental)...

I was just thinking " All the great plays he has made and from now on every time he is talked about someone will bring this one play up."
The entire defense was sleepwalking because they were playing a scheme in contrast to everything Chief had been teaching them. I will never understand the way some DC's go into a shell against a running B and help him crush them.

If you look at that play from the beginning. Peterson is just standing there, thinking Cam was going to be tackled. It really surprised him, and he was late. Anyone thinking Cam is faster than Peterson, is stupid.

I watched it again after reading stuff like this and I never once saw a time where Newton outran Peterson. PP latched on to him as soon as he got close and forward momentum by a big motherfricker allowed him to fall into the end zone.

Watching the replay this happened a lot in the game and not just Peterson assuming a tackle was gonna be made.

Right. And I think it's debatable that he actually scored on that play.
The replay didn't have a good angle and it appeared that the ball was probably short. They would have scored on the next play anyway but there wasn't clear evidence that he scored on that play IMO.

The rant is in a bad place when posters are taking talking points from Gary Danielson and Verne Lundquist. I was hoping that I only had to listen to them last Saturday, not on the rant with each post as well.

Peterson was coming from behind and the side. With the angles Peterson had to slow up not to over pursue. This idea he outran Peterson is fricking stupid as Peterson is a 4.3 guy. He also did not get drug into the endzone as Newton went down as soon as physics would allow. He is 30 lbs heavier than Peterson and was tackled from behind. You have to expect momentum will carry Newton into the endzone.
The way people are criticizing Peterson you would have thought they wanted him to horse collar Newton and blow up the guys knee Roy Williams style.
Newton is a beast and deserves the hype, but no need just making up lies about what actually happened.
