Derek Ponamsky just said Eliot Porter declined to be interviewed by ESPN so they used UK footage to push their agenda. Despite Eliot telling them he still wants to join the LSU team.
Nice work ESPN

I'm a layman so forgive me. Who is Eliot Porter???

he was an LSU beat writer who has since spoken to Porter. I guess he's lying though.

Am I the dumb frick here because I seriously just wanted to know who he is?? The defensive tackle right that was released from his scholarship???

Basically one of the guy's ESPN used as their center piece for their argument did not want to be interviewed and still wants to play for LSU.
ESPN circumvented that little problem by just using some footage from an interview he gave at UK to show how upset he was.

fastohio is the dumb frick. You're just stupid because you can't tell who is being replied to.

Porter has asked for his release from UK, is there any chance LSU would take him now?

Hes trying to transfer to LSU?
Posted on 12/20/10 at 4:26 pm to saintsfan22
if UK allows him to transfer to an SEC school or he goes JUCO first. He does want to return though.
you wouldn't think a guy fricked over by the evil Les Miles would want to though right?

wouldnt he have to sit out a year and lose his scholarship or is that only a big ten rule.
i guess he could go the juco route for a year

Ok now I'd like to not be labeled dumb frick or stupid on this one if possible. I just got home from work, what was the espn segment on exactly???
Posted on 12/20/10 at 4:28 pm to BilJ
Dude thought the grass was greener on the other side.
He prolly wanted to show up LSU for the greyshirt offer then realized he would have been better off taking the greyshirt after all.

Oversigning but they used Chris Garrett as there example, a terrible choice.

Thank you saintsfan22. Is oversigning a big deal?? Do a lot of kids end up getting screwed when coaches go all ogeron on them and turn it into a meat market????? I mean to say is this a major issue in college football that doesnt get discussed a lot??

Not really but obviously a player will be pissed if it happened to them. But since that's not what happened to Garrett their story was mostly ridiculous.

It was really shocked that Garrett was one of their examples. Anyone know who wrote the ESPN piece? They seemed either lazy or they had an axe to grind against Miles.
It would be hilarious if Porter really was against the story.

I don't believe there was any axe to grind specifically against LSU. My best guess is that they wanted to do a piece on oversigning and grayshirting. I also guess that most players affected by those actions aren't willing to talk to the press because doing so makes them less attractive to other schools. CG was the exception, so that's who they had film on, so they built the story around LSU.
