Is there anything worse than...

Your boots filling up with water 5 minutes after daybreak?
Went to pick up a duck we shot down this morning. Too shallow for my pirogue so I walked out to get it with my knee high boots. Hit a soft spot and for the rest of the hunt I had soaking wet feet and heavy arse boots

That always has and always will suck the big one. The rule I live by:
If you need knee boots wear hip-boots. If you need hip-boots wear chest waders. Anything deeper build a blind or hunt from the boat.

My buddy was goin to pick up a decoy the other day and did a 10 second wader dance, fell all the way in, stood up and shot the decoy point blank. LMAO farealz

Its so great to have chest waders. I remember dad would take us to Catahoula, and we just use duct tape to keep our tennis shoes from pulling off. Man, it used to be cold, too!

It sucks, but I've done worse...I slipped on an underwater log and fell in with chest waders on when the temp was about 23. We built a fire on Russel Sage WMA because we had 4 wheelered/waded so far from the truck and had to do something to dry some clothes out. (Not to mention my cigarettes were wet and I needed them dry to calm me down)
I was dancing around a fire in the woods in skivvies :sp: trying to smoke wet Marlboro Reds
To top it off, we got stopped by a Warden on the way out (no ticket), then got my buddy's (RIP) two wheel drive Yota stuck trying to leave. Had to get the warden to pull us out! What a day it was. That was 1996

Was you off pump road back there?

I got wet once, when I cut my waders. I hate getting wet. Waders or hip boots and a dog would have also helped.

Once??? I am always having wader issues. Whether I fall in or they leak.
Guarantees for waders and me:
1)I will fall at some point
2) I will have to shite as soon as I fasten the straps

I was the king of getting wet till I was 12ish maybe older
they called me duck
I literally found a way to fall in the water everytime we were hunting

Hunted both. Dont remember exactly where we were that day. You didn't see my smoke signals?

We hunted with an old man that would start yelling the same thing everytime someone would fall.

falling out the boat in the intercoastal at 2 am sucked pretty bad. it was cold as frick outside. was drunk and my buddy took a turn a little too sharp and i rolled out that bitch. at least we got a few frogs though

I got in a pirogue one morning about 10 years ago, before daylight to turn on my mojo decoy when it was 28 degrees and rolled that bitch when I got to the decoy. The water was about 8 foot deep and I parted the water like Moses did several years prior. The bad part was I came out of the water sans pirogue and my old man made me go back in and get it.

I have seen/done some funny arse falls in waders. It always seems to take about 30seconds or more before one finally just gives in and goes down

Hunted one morning busting ice and it was in the mid to high teens. Only kind of waders there were back then were just the rubber Hodgesons. They sucked because you just could get enough clothes under then to stay warm.
Anyway, we were headed to the blind from the boat and had to cross a log. With all those clothes, you just weren't all that flexible and my foot got hung on the log and I fell not much but my waders filled with water. We hunted until about 8:00. My buddy knew I was suffering.
That was the coldest I have ever been. My feet were completely numb. When I pulled the boat onto the trailer and jumped out of the boat, the pain that I felt is something that just can't explain. Even with numb legs, I almost cried.
I don't think I warmed up the rest of that winter.
