So my friend called me from the airport a few minutes ago and told me that he just met Marcus Dupree there. I told him To ask Him if he knew where things stood with CJ Johnson. Marcus told him that he seriously doubt CJ goes to MState, and that he THINKS he'll come to LSU, but it's a LSU ole miss battle. FWIW Dupree said that he wanted him to go to Bama.

LSU has not had any history with signing recruits using "advisors", but from the sound of those responses, he is truly giving advice only.

I think CJ Johnson could step on the field and play. If Cutrera can see significant time as a true freshman, this kid could start.

CJ had told people at LSU that if it wasn't for ties a MSU, he'd be going to LSU. I don't know how Ole Miss got back in the discussion, and I don't know what changed at MsState, but at one point, he liked LSU, alot. Visits on the 28th, so we'll see.

There's an article on TB stating that CJ asked for advice from Dupree. He's not his handler or anything. They're both from The same town.

Yeah, go to Bama where there are already 50 LBers and where the Midget coach won't be there in a few years...Idiot! Recruits that need advisors should hire advisors that actually have a brain. Going to Bama would be career suicide. Just as it would for Clowney. That 2 faced Midget wont be there for 2 more seasons. Book it!

I am not saying you are full of it but I think Dupree is. Why in the world would this kid have all but eliminated Moo State down the strecth when they have retained there coach, ranked top 25 post season adn pre season and the future looks extremely bright.

What could have possibly swayed him away or checnged?

They lost their defensive coordinator who was recruiting him. And MSU's recruits are bailing like rats off of a sinking ship, so the future isn't looking too bright.

I'm sorry, but if you are a high profile recruit, why is there a debate as to which one of these schools you should attend? Nutt is sinking that program year after year.

I see your point adn i agree with it but if LSU was in the same situation as Ole miss is now ( god forbid) and Ole miss was a great perennial powerhouse. WOuld you leave the state for Ole miss. I wouldnt. If I grew up and LSU fan then I would have to go and try my best for LSU.

CJ has said he grew up an LSU fan though, so it kinda defeats that purpose. It's just accepting the distance factor, which I think he will when he comes on his official visit. Hell, let Freak host him and say, "I'll clear the way for you on any blitz"

They lost their D-coordinator, the guy who was his primary recruiter.

The fallout that Moo State has shown lately (Singleton, Brassell, Morrow, Whitehead, and CJ) is showing what people have said about Mullen even when he was at Florida: He's a lazy recruiter. He loses two staff members, and his class is now falling apart on him, mostly to a team that won ONE game in the SEC
