If the NFL is so unfair (as is claimed by the players)

Why do they not just start their own league? Just take their talent and establish a competitor? You don't think that a bunch of money men would not step forward to be owners (trump, for example)? If Brady, Brees and Manning were playing in the other league, you don't think the networks would not go running?

trump already tried this and failed

Well, considering how much the CURRENT tv contracts are for I am not sure if they would.

No, No, No, No Way. See UFL, WFL, etc.

the same exact shite would happen...they would need someone to procure those t.v. contracts, marketing deals, leases, etc...They would have to get wealthy investors (OWNERS) to basically aaah frick you get the point

Ok, so we're all admitting that the Owners have a whole lot to do with the success of the league too. Without a franchize nobody cares about the Sanchize. Let's just get the season started and move on. I have no idea why the owners aren't getting more support on this. Without them these players would be using their college educations to make $65k a year somewhere.

Exactly. Other leagues have had talented football players galore and failed miserably - the USFL comes to mind. If the players had any sense they would sit down and shut up and learn to respect the men who have made them millionaires. Then again these guys making $5 million plus have egos bigger than their talents and salaries and think their shite don't stink and really have no respect for the game. Manning, Brees, and Brady may be the 3 best players at their positions but they are all becoming major assholes with these shenanigans. They are basically pissing on the very people who made them millionaires and relevant to society.

Claiming you are losing money with zero proof (who doesn't think the owners a full of shite on this one?) makes the owners much bigger assholes.
How about they shut the frick up and collect their billions. You keep saying the players should keep quiet but do you not realize the owners brought this lockout and negotiations upon us. The OWNERS were the ones that were bitching about their "bad" deal. NOT the players. Players simply asked them to back up their crying and the owners said " uhhhhhh, but then you'd find out we are trying to play yall"

What owner has said they are making a net loss? Hell I'm sure some of the owners of shitty teams are experiencing lower profits (losing money eh!).

If it wasn't for the owners 90% of these guys would never make more than $50-60,000 a year. The players need to shut their fricking mouths and respect the men who have made them wealthy for playing a fricking game.

I didn't see benson out their intercepting manning or Benson hitting shockey for a TD in the superbowl did I?
Brees & Co. have made Benson a SHITLOAD of money in the last 6 years. Benson has paid them well too. But don't act like the Saints would be making anywhere CLOSE to as much without the players we have now. The superdome is currently undergoing a major renovation and season tickets are sold out (they never sold out before bress was here). Since Brees became the face of the franchise the Saints have experienced success like NEVER before.
Sure the Saints aren't the only team in the league but you keep attacking the players for basically asking the owners why should we just give you free money without giving us anything in return. That's just not logical.

I'd be willing to bet that the smallest market team in the NFL has had higher profits in this CBA term than any previous one.

And without Benson and those 31 owners, none of those guys would even be known. Players come and go, but the teams and the game stay eternal.

And I bet you water is wet.
Might have something to do with the fact that football is the most popular sport in this country. Hell the BCSCG will outrate the NBA Finals, World Series, and easily the Stanley Cup this year despite the fact that at the very most 20 players who took snaps in the NCG will ever take a single snap in the NFL. Why? Americans love football. It's our game. No one does it better than we do. Hell can you even name 5 NFL players that weren't born and raised in this country?
Americans by and large don't give two shits about the names on the back of the jerseys as much as they do about the names on the front and the very game itself.

No shite. Which is why they are making fricking billions of dollars.
I like how you call the millionaire players greedy for not wanting to give BILLIONAIRE owners more money. I still think you believe this whole labor negotiation was brought on by the players.

Didn't you just say that some teams are likely taking in smaller profits. With the TV money/revenue sharing and cap the only way you are making smaller profits is due to stadium add-ons and lower attendance (which isn't happening).
Everyone is paying their players the same amount.
Shitty teams still make HUGE profits. They already had most of their money in the bank before the season even started.
We'll never know though. The owners are too greedy and are to big of pussies to show the numbers. They know they are full of shite and so does everyone else.

Point me out a single owner that is personally gaining one billion dollars in net revenue from the league.
At the end of the day (financial year), each NFL team is banking about $20-$50 million dollars. They are probably making more than that, but like any business or individual they work their accounting practices to show lower profits in order to pay lower taxes. I have no problem with that.

You do realize that without the owners, these palyers won't make much more than a fraction of what they currently make, right? The NFL is a business and if the shareholders (owners) want more money, they get more money. They are taking ALL of the financial risks, while the players take NONE. frick the players.
The players are the same group who bitched ALL season long about crackdowns on violent/defenseless hits and then want to bitch and moan about retirement benefits - especially medical coverage. frick those hypocrites. They bitch about something benefiting them not only now, but in the future. Only a retard would side with them and their hypocrisy.

It was brought on by owners who got tired of all the crazy shite the player union was getting away with. I mean frick me running Sam Bradford got paid more than 90% of the players in the league last season, and that was before he even took a damn snap!

Funny you mention signing bonuses.
This is something that was created by the owners to circumvent the cap. Talk about hypocrisy. I don't feel bad for owners abusing the system THEY created.

Where did I say signing bonuses? Bradford's salary outside of signing bonuses was ridiculous as well.
