Rib-eyes on the grill
Roasted sweet peppers, zuchini, and squash melange
Baked potatoes
Carmelized onions
Sauteed crimini mushrooms
Potato rolls
Derby pie
Fresh strawberry pie

My wife picked out all her favorites.

For someone elses mother, the menu is a grilled flank steak, roasted new potatoes, sauteed haricort vert with toasted almonds, and a strawberry shortcake.

If my mom was still around I'd cook her a good chuck roast rice and gravy. She loved rice and gravy.

i love f&d board cooking threads .. no one ever says "pot roast with rice and gravy with vegetables" .. it's always four-course, five-star restaurant faire .. it is amazing restaurants in BR are still in business with all the accomplished chefs we have around here ...

yeah, i noticed that .. hats off to you ..

some of the dishes i see on here that people claim to make at home i haven't had in ten years at restaurants, let alone make them at home .. shite, half the sauces and sides they claim to prepare would take three hours alone ..

Sorry, but the restaurants in this city just aren't good enough for my mother on Mother's Day.

I don't eat at restaurants as a general rule. If you ever want a meal done at home that would knock your wifes socks off, page me.

Sorry...

I like pot roast too, but it's just cooking. Following directions, some skills, and a love for what you're doing, that's all.
