EPL: Torres (too expensive)
SPL: James Beattie (he sucks at soccer. Bornsucko could stop him from scoring)
Ligue 1: Jimmy Briand (he sucks)
La Liga: Javier Mascherano (too expensive, unnecessary)

Torres has been the worst IMO...what about his L’pool & now Chelski Israelite teammate?

Wrong

Despite the diving, Mascherano has played wonderfully in the second half of the season in several different defensive roles.

10 appearances, 6 starts, 0 goals, dropped from the bench in October, loaned to Newcastle in January, out for the year with ankle injury.

Stevie is the winner with Konchesky losing by a nose at the wire.

Wasnt Ireland just a "throw in" on the Milner transfer? Or was he a separate buy?

Torres for now, but he could pay off next year if he gets it together.

He'll probably never live up to how much Chelsea paid for him.

Ireland was basically a throw in, but Villa had to negotiate a deal for his signing. Ireland wanted severance pay from City if he was to be a throw-in, which City didn't want to do. So, he wasn't a package deal with the money City paid for Milner, if that makes sense. The clubs agreed an 8 mil transfer fee in the end, so technically it was a separate buy.

Got to disagree here. The only thing he's done wrong is be injured when they needed him. He brings the exact sort of play Chelsea need if they're gonna play two strikers (they've sort of given up now).

I think Man Utd are taking a shotgun approach. They bought Bebe, Obertan and Herndandez all for similar amounts in a short space of time. To have one work out is amazing business because he'll probably play for them for the next 10 years. The other two can be sold off for not that much less than they were bought for in a few years when they're a bit bigger but still not great.

i didn't really mind the signing itself: unknown quantity with a potentially large upside. i was thrown off by the free transfer --> ~10 million euros in a month and a half.

I'd have to agree with you there. Torres is a close second
