Well isn't that nice.

No. Selection committees are a necessary evil if you want tournament play for the "top 64" teams.
The joke was LSU baseball this year.
And yes, OM was an even funnier joke.

Baseball selection committee should be baseball guys. Most of the guys on this committee are from schools that don't have much to do with baseball.
The committee should consist of a representative of each conference that receives an automatic bid.
The committee is a joke.

The fact is that we have no clue how the committee is chosen. Unless someone can link us to some sort of selection criteria, this entire argument is moot.
The bottomline is that everyone thought RPI would matter more than it did. LSU's conference mark was terrible and they didn't make Hoover. St John's conference mark was much better and they almost won their conference tourney.
Until NCAA tournaments are based on selection WITHOUT regard to conference (meaning the actual top 64 teams get in, no matter what conference you play in), selection committees are a necessary evil and ANY selection committee that snubs someone is going to get picked apart by that teams fanbase. The only way around it is to pick the committee the day after all conference tourney's end, and make caertain that ONLY members from schools that have ZERO chance to play are picked so that the committee is entirely un-biased. But even then, LSU fans would stalk members on facebook and find out that committee member so-n-so went to Bama, and MUST hate LSU and THAT'S why they didn't put us in the field... It never ends.

One thing that never ends
OMAHA
Ole
Miss
At
Home
Again
And as bad as LSU was this year (LSU dug their own grave), they still took 2 of 3 from Ole Miss

prob wouldn't matter, the committee basically said they don't give a frick about head to head

Yeah but we got owned by the Western Division Fighting A's (Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn) going 2-7 against them. Those are the teams I hate the most.
Ole Miss will always suck in baseball. Omaha has bad Gris Gris on them so they never make it so I'm not worried about them. They always find a way to screw themselves.

this is the problem. every year they change the excuses for which bubble teams they select; whether it be RPI, head to head, conference record, ooc schedules, etc.
