this summer with the family. We went to the board walk and I watched some guys play the little basketball game, where if you make the shot you get a basketball. Half of the balls the guy had aired up were LSU balls. I asked him why, and he told me to watch for a while. 90% of the people who went up there were shooting to get the LSU ball. It really showed me that we seem to have east Texas on lock down.

I'm only kidding. It's pretty common knowledge Houston has lots of LSU fans/alum. Did any of the people paying to play look like DI athletes?

Who have you taken from LSU from that area? That LSU really pursued hard and didn't get. Bennett who cried when he signed because he wanted to go to LSU and his Dad forced him to go to A&M?

I mean we don't have it locked down like A&M has Louisiana locked down, but we try our best... We're just trying to match your football prestige / dominance.

It's time to admit it. A&M appears close to having lock down on Louisiana players...that LSU doesn't offer. This will adversely affect Ole Miss and Moo State recruiting.

TCU seems to be hitting LA harder than A&M as well as getting better players.

Back in the 70's there was a LSU broadcast on one of the local stations where the previous game was shown and discussed.

Lasted at least five or six years as I recall.

Bish please. Marty B was as Aggie as they come

And this year A&M has arguably the 3 best players from Houston committed. They could get a LSU ship if they wanted earlier in the process. Maybe not now that the class is filling up.

Big Kat, Marty B was between A&M & tu. Never heard that LSU was in the picture. I will say that it's easier for LSU to get quality players from Texas than the other way around for A&M. As we continue to get better under Sherman I think we'll get players that in the past might have gone to LSU or OU. Texas still gets (and under develops) most of the players that they want. Fortunately for us, they don't always know who to get. We can make a good living taking players LSU doesn't have room for and on rare occasions some who want to leave the state.

Dad forced him to go to A&M. He told his family he was going to LSU right before his public announcement and his Dad flipped his shite. Told him he was going to play with his brother. I thought everyone knew this? Maybe it was just denied in Aggieland and stricken from your memories.

That's not what he told our fan sites. And he would post on TexAgs occasionally. Throughout the whole recruiting process he was always wearing Aggie gear and would come up to basketball games where he was treated like a rock star. We also were letting him on the bball team.

Me thinks your side of the story is off

Not a free article. Without reading it it's not changing my opinion. Either way. Doesn't matter

LSU isn't exactly knocking 'em dead in Texas this year. Every committed player between the two schools from the state of Texas that are also holding an offer from both are committed to A&M.

A history lesson - LSU has always picked off high profile East Texas players and will continue - C Alexader, H arvey Williams, Faneca, Addai, Shep and this year Hunter DE will be a star. Oklahoma lives off Texas, ND gets a few, and all the in state schools and Big 10 get a share - Brees to Purdue. TX, OK, TAM, and LSU in that order get the cream of the crop.

just like how Christine Michael had always wanted to be an Aggie and wasn't really looking for that LSU commitable offer
