Yes yes I know dude is all over the place and paints with a very wide brush but his latest off the afternoon drive:
-the rift between OU and UT is more real than people realize
-OU &1 Okie St to the PAC 12 isn't that far fetched
-the PAC12 would maybe consider UT but not until the horns agree to rework the LHN
-The Horns have zero desire to entertain amending the LHN at this time
-Pitt is much more likely than BYU to replace A&M in the big12
-VA Tech is the "next shoe to drop"
-To get to 16 the SEC is much more likely to snag from the ACC than anywhere
-which would cause a domino effect with the ACC raiding the BigEast for teams and the BigEast would crumble unable to stop the bleeding
-with the fall of the BigEast, Notre Dame would be forced to find a home for its other sports resulting in.......
.......Notre Dame joining the Big12 in all sports including football
Dont have any clue how he got from A to G on that one. But he sure pulled something out of his arse

How in fricking hell are Chip Brown and Ketchum being treated as if they were legitimate journalists? Those guys are throwing shite on a wall and hoping it sticks.. I'm sure we could go back a few weeks and read posts about how A&M would never leave the Big XII and that the only way the SEC would take A&M was if they were a package deal with Texas. Those guys are the epitome of longhorn FANS and why the rest if the college football nation is sick and tired of their shite.

One or two of those points aren't bad.
BYU isn't interested in the B12 it seems.
VT is probably team 14.
OU is finally pissed at UTa (bout damn time)
UTa isn't going to the PAC-12
But ND to the B12 is a Longhorn pipedream. But those arrogant asshats believe it :smh:

I'll believe it when I see it. OU needs the Texas game to keep its toehold in North Texas recruiting.

Agreed. It may be a forced package deal. However, if Okie State were to act like A&M and look to the SEC, it would help their program and not hurt OU that much either.

Not surprised, I believe PAC-12 also shares revenues equally like SEC and B1G (if I'm wrong I apologize in advance)

Talk about being arrogant or dense (or both)

Which isn't saying much, neither are that likely.

Please please please VT come to the SEC!

VT, maybe NC State for #15 (or an alternate choice for #14)?

Except it can remake itself as a premier basketball conference (Nova, G-Town, Marquette, maybe merge with A-10).

The who?

I'm amazed that so many journalists assume the SEC is in a mad rush to get to 16. Everything I've read or heard from SEC people is that the SEC is good at 14 for the forseeable future. They are in NO rush to get to 16 teams. The SEC is just fishing hard for the right Eastern team to add. Watch Virginia Tech and NC State closely in that regard.

he is a mouthpiece for the University of Texas. This means you will get true inside info sometimes but also bullshite that Texas wants to spread.

the Big East might lose some members in football and maybe its BCS status, but it ain't going away in basketball and the other sports ND is part of.

I think Texas really screwed the pooch with their Longhorn network. Oklahoma has GOT to be pissed at UT, too. I think it's a given both Okie schools bolt for greener pastures ASAP. Texas is going to be a big man without a country.

Floating Pitt is all about threatening Notre Dame with the collapse of the Big East. It's so transparent, it's almost pathetic.
Posted on 8/31/11 at 7:15 pm to Baloo
All Pitt brings is another basketball team that gets highly rated in the pre-season then chokes during the playoffs. Somewhat like Rick Barnes does at Texas.
Posted on 8/31/11 at 7:16 pm to Baloo
There are 8 Big East teams in football and 16 in basketball, before TCU joins. The BE in basketball is not going anywhere.

If KSU and KU go to the Big East, can you imagine that conference in Basketball

And people think the SEC is too brutal in football?
I had UConn getting bounced in the second round because I swore that all the games they played (five in five days) would have wore them out. Darn if they didn't run the table on me.

Ketch? I dont know. He's just a college dropout who spent all of his tuition money on foot-long Coneys and gas as he stalked high school football players. He just got really lucky with the Orangebloods thing
Chip's a different story. He's a Michigan fan and an SMU grad. He's actually got a legitimate journalism background as he covered the Cowboys for the Dallas paper for a long time. How/why he ended up working for Orangebloods is beyond me. I have the suspicion he got laid off from the Dallas Morning News due to cutbacks - purely a guess. His name gets out there alot because he's not afraid to report anything, I question just how many of his sources he "verifies" - I think people incorrectly categorize him as a UT homer, but to listen to him on the radio everyday, he's really not. But his territory now is UT, so that is pretty much all he writes/talks about.
And to be honest, I dont think he makes anything up, but he makes one call or hears it from one person, any person inside the dept, and he's going to air with it.....not sure how much effort he goes to task with to back up his info

This.
And, as you know, that's NOT journalism.
