Gleason statue

While not an all-time great, Gleason will forever be a part off one of the most memorable moments in saints history. Any opinions on a statue of Gleason replicating the blocked punt? In champions square maybe?
I'd like to see a couple others as well.... Rickey, etc.

I agree with this. I'd be in favor of putting up giant pictures from Saints lore including Gleason's block in Champions Square.

I was actually thinking the same thing today. One play--but it was so emblematic of where New Orleans was at that time. It became a little bit of a rallying point for a City and a team making a comeback, a launching point for a team and it's fans to begin in a journey that we could scarcely have imagined.
One man, one play, Steve Gleason.
For New Orleanians near and far, nothing more need be said.

There's already a mural of Gleason blocking the punt in the concourse area. He's part of the Dome and part of Saints history.

A statue of him blocking that punt would send chills.
He was a great player. I loved to watch him on special teams. He had a lot of energy. He was all about doing his best and doing it right. He was balls to the wall. #37

You're probably right, but man watching him try to walk on the field today was tough. I just hope he can bring some awareness and try to help get a cure for this disease.
But a statue of Gleason blocking the punt would be freakin' sweet.

That was really tough to watch

it could just have the ATL punter's foot with the ball on it

Somewhere on that endzone wall they should just have a picture of the block. So what if it interrupts whatever design they have going around the wall, the fans would love it.

I read about his situation yesterday, but I wasn't aware how far along he was. It was tough to watch him being helped off the field after the coin toss.
I like renaming that corner of the endzone Gleason's Corner.

Most men worthy of being depicted in statues have no actual interest in being memorialized.
