OK. A&M could have had Fedora and passed on him. Either by choice or indecision. I'm going to guess by choice.

My thought is, we made the bold jump to the SEC West. We then made the decision to go into the West with a new coach.

We can't be dumb can we? (please refrain from too obvious Aggie joke). I'm guessing the A&M good ol' boys are about to moneywhip somebody.

Everybody keeps saying it'll start with an S. Nope not Smart, Strong or Sumlin. Give ne Stoops or Saban

Ha. Quoted for prosperity I see.

I'm not "calling my shot". I'm delusional from sleeping 4 hours per night while still checking my smart phone randomly to know who the next coach is.

If it's Troy Calhoun I won't be posting here anymore.

I'll leave my password in the suicide note so my family can notify y'all

Stoops? Maybe... Incredible long shot tho.

Saban? Not a chance.

BTW: At this point it should be obvious that aTm has struck out with all candidates that were viewed as an upgrade and have had to resort to begging Sherman to come back.

He is mulling over his decision.

aTm cannot outbid Bama. Saban will not leave Bama for aTm for just a little more money, either. While the Gumps are in denial about his wandering eye, there's just nothing at aTm that can draw him. Ditto for Stoops unless there is extreme dissention behind the scenes and he's looking for a way out. Stoops would be campaigning for the Penn State job, if that were the case.

Smart is a viable option - the Gumps think a 4 or 5 year stint there will prep him for taking over Bama when Saban leaves (they really believe he's going to retire there.)

I wouldn't bet against it. If its a bidding war, no way hell Bama could out bid A&M.

He's not predicting anybody really. Says Sumlin is in the running as well as a few others.

The school has a gag order on it's employees the last day or so so it's hard for Looch and others to get info. So they are having to get info from the other side via the candidates people or other schools, etc

Rivals would be slightly wrong whether Sumlin is hired or not.

There was a search where multiple candidates were interviewed and many more were contacted for interest.

If Sumlin is hired it was by a fair process

I will give Big Kat credit. He is the most optimistic Aggie I've ever seen online.

Optimism is cool.
