I can't get through on the phones so I'll post my ideas and thoughts here and maybe the thread will go a few minutes without getting whacked.

This has pretty much been the main topic all show, Matt's stance? He agrees with everything Bobby said but strongly disagrees with the medium Bobby used.

First, going off of Bobby's main question behind the rant, why didn't Les put in Lee?

My question, why is everybody just now jumping on board with "why didn't Les put Lee in?" This has been brought up every week since 11/5 and has been shot down with "shut up, Les has this team undefeated so just accept every decision he makes." Matt strongly agrees that Lee should have seen the field, yet when the question was posed after the first Bama game he went off on callers and stood behind the "we're undefeated" mantra.

Second, when and how did the coaches press conference become such sacred ground? Why is there an understood decorum where the press should ask tough questions, but not too tough questions and never ever state your opinion. Matt's stance is that there is a proper venue for asking those sorts of things and stating your opinions, and the press conference should be left to the professionals because that is the time to ask straight forward questions for whatever piece they are working on. If that's the case then take the top 5 questions from the presser before the coach walks in, have them printed out nice and neat for the coach to have in front of him and he can go down the list in a nice orderly fashion as he pleases, and don't forget to weed out the questions that might agitate him.

Lastly, why does Matt take callers? He throws out a main topic for the day, gives his opinion on the matter, and proceeds to huff and puff to any caller that calls in and disagrees. I get that radio show hosts do this across the country, but they don't do it to every single topic discussed. It just gets kind of old.

Right, and to that point, why not just have everybody submit a question on paper before the coach gets there and they can put them in one of those large, metal tumblers and have someone draw a question and ask the coach...how dare somebody comes in there and strays from proper decorum

I thought I was the only one left who felt like this. Our fans are hypocritical jackasses. I have been critical of Miles when he fricks up, including this year with the JJ/Lee problem after Lee getting benched. But its not worth fighting, because everyone will just say "we are undefeated, and you are worried about the QB situation!!!"
But now, its okay to have any criticism of Miles. I wish we could be critical regardless of our record.

THIS!!!!
Hannagrif was guilty of this and now they question Miles after the fact... every person who cheered JL or booed JJ after the 1st bama game saw the JJ BCS game failure coming...

Mascona's stance was silly. He's trying to say Hebert showboated for attention, not for an honest inquiry. He seems to forget that he is a sports host, thus he is entertainment. The "integrity" he is trying to trump up seems more like envy considering the attention it has garnered Hebert and the larger audience.

How many times today did Mascona say, "Well, you've never done this job"? Very sad level for the guy to stoop to because he wasn't the one who got the attention.

The who show was a Mascona hissy fit.

The word ridiculous is what got everybody all up in arms, Bobby asked the question and tried to preempt Les' patented coach speak babble...but again I ask, who or what anointed the coaches press conference such holy ground where the strictest of all these unwritten rules must be followed. If you didn't like the rant and side with Matt then surely you would support a system where everybody writes down their question and puts them into a drawing to be asked.

And then he said he didn't have a question, and followed that statement up with a question.

Most of my issue lies with his dual role as a sports reporter and parent...

I didn't know it would come in the National Title game, but I definitely knew that it was just a matter of time before Jefferson was reinstated as the starter when Jefferson, only reinstated on the team in time for one walk thru practice, not only came in for the QB sneak, but got two series at quarterback during the Kentucky game. I didn't boo, cause I have kids with me at the game, but I sure did the heck out of that.

Miles and Co. have gotten too used to soft media (and they're not the only CFB coaches like this)

I'm missing something here in regards to you and being a radio host apparently. Surely a conversation I missed in your hundred something thousand posts.

Hosting a political radio show is something I would love to do, but I'm not willing to take the pay cut it would require for me to do so now.

I'm pretty sure that Slowflowpro was the host of the Tiger Rant Radio show that had a brief run before Hurricane Gustav knocked out the 1300 AM radio antennae.
