I wouldn't have thought Mingo would have been that high up considering his weight.

He's a little light for a DE, no?

I'm guessing they're basing this off just a pass rush specialist? That high? or him fitting in a 3-4?

...and @ Logan Thomas. No fricking way that kid is that good, IMO. I watched him a couple times and he's not top 5.

He's pretty much a 3-4 Pass rushing OLB in the NFL

what a lot of people dont understand is that Mingo is one of a kind and the NFL drools over having something that no one else does

mingo will go off the board very quick next year

Matt Barkley will be the first QB taken next year, but I just don't see him being a top pick. He reminds me of a right-handed Leinhart but with a Tebow personality. He's a product of being on the team with the most talent with the conference that has the least defensive resistance.

Logan Thomas has that Cam Newton ability, but doesn't seem to have his big play ability just yet. Probably because Beamerball has no room for showing off great quarterback talents. That said, when you have comparability to Newton and Josh Freeman, you're going to be a first-rounder.

Jones and Mingo aren't in the same category just yet. Neither will be drafted top 5, but Jones has the better shot at it.

Amerson is your Patrick Peterson/Mo Claiborne for next year. Ridiculous ball skills, great athleticism, and can just shut down anyone on the field.

I'm interested to see who the first back taken next year is and how high they go.

Mingo is a freak. if he has another double digit sack season, you know he is going to knock his workout out the park. Teams will be drooling over him.

production+freak workout = very high pick

yeah, i can see it, pass rushers often go high, shite that guy from WVU went 13 and he was projected as a 2nd rounder. long way to say top 5, since you drafts top 5 and what QB emerges (who had RGIII in the top 5 a year ago), but Mingo and Monty are first rounders barring injuries or terrible years.

i could see sonic sam dropping into the 2nd/3rd if he doesn't run well and doesn't fit a traditional 4-3 (height)

his production would have to decrease, also, which is unlikely

mingo may murder his workouts, and he has the height/agility to go with the speed that makes him ideal. add in a double-digit sack season and he won't go top 10 only if he's under 240

It shouldn't be that surprising. Bruce Irvin had similar measurables and the same number of sacks last year and was drafted 15th overall.

With another year of experience (especially if he learns some counter-moves and has a break out year) Mingo could very easily be a top 10 pick. If he goes to a 3-4 team, I'd think he'd have a good chance to excel.

USA Today yesterday (don't know what service or "expert" they used) had:

1. Matt Barkley
2. Robert Woods

FWIW

Its not that it's surprising, but I'm almost certain some shitty team will need a LT to draft after the first 2 picks. I just don't see a slightly undersized (if he stays around 240, and I'm not real sure he ways that much now) DE/OLB being drafted in the top 5.
