The 4 Headed Monster--A Great Problem To Have

Is there another backfield in the league with this much depth? I think not.
With the running back position having evolved to work by committee, it seems the Saints are taking the approach of having a back ready for every situation. I think the depth chart should read 1a, 1b, 1c, 2 with Ingram, PT, Sproles and Ivory, respectively.
All this coming from the team that led the NFL in passing last year.
I know the offense has not been the problem of this team by any means, but with the new mindset since 2006, you can never have enough scoring power.
oops
Barring a complete massacre of a job by the new coaching situation, I can't see this offense stumbling as long as 9 is under center.
If Spags can force some turnovers, we have a great shot at taking that shiny football from Hitler in our own home.
Damn, I'm ready for football season.

The running backs were managed to near perfection last season.
As long as they stick to a similar formula for rotating them, they Saints should thrive in this area.

Any updates on Ingram's foot injury...is he 100%?
What about PT's concussion he received in the NFC companionship game...is he 100%?

Thanks for the kind words, but I have to earn it.
I'll be around. I just don't like getting caught up in the nega-saintard-ranting-shite-talks.
Also, my job once again allows me to hang out with you good people on a 7-5 mon-fri basis.
That said, my passion for this team and the whodat nation run deep.

I do not have updates on this. I guess I should have done my research.
Anyone else know?

A wise choice. Posting in every thread isn't what makes a great poster.

IMO Ivory would be our best back at 100%, total diamond in the rough, but cant argue with any of the talent in the back field!
Nice "oops" and post!

If he's not 100% 5 months out...he's not playing NFL running back again

Saw PT, AArr., MIng. and LMoore at Phil's Grill in Metairie a couple of Saturdays ago. He looked fine, laughing and posing for pics from a couple of old ladies....

My one problem with our running game last year was the way Ingram was used. It seems every time he came in for a play, everyone knew the ball was going to him. IIRC that was the case because he wasn't a good pass blocker. Hopefully he improved so our coaches can be more dynamic with him.
Also, the downside to having so many backs is you know a quality RB will most likely be inactive every week (like Ivory was for most of last year even though he was healthy). But like you said this is a great problem to have. I can really see us running a little more this year. Especially at the beginning of the season. It will be interesting to watch this year.

If Ingram can stay healthy (hopefully he's resolved his knee issues), the Saints do have one of, if not the best, backfields in the NFL.
ETA: Just gotta make sure you ride the hot hand, which can change per quarter in the NFL.
