If true its likely a move to get a team in the division to match a huge contract.

Gordon is not worth a max contract. If the Rockets throw near that at him, we would have to seriously consider letting him go. As hard as that would be to do...we can't handicap our future like that.

Meh. Hornets offered 4/$50, going to 4/$58 isn't as good but it's not that big of a deal.

Its pretty well known the Hornets are gonna match any offer, but man thats gonna be a bitch if this thing is a max deal

Over $2 million per year? That's a cutting off your nose to spite your face kind of sticking to your principles. If we went after someone like Courtney Lee or Nick Young as a replacement we'd easily overpay by the same amount.

Pretty sure the Hornets will match the 4/54 max that Houston can offer. I don't think Gordon will come much cheaper and it saves them from offering the 5/80 extension.
If the Rockets want Gordon bad enough, Hornets should just deal him there.
Gordon for Lowry/14/16.
Draft Lamb at 10, PJ3 at 14. then preference of Leonard/Zeller/Moultrie/Sullinger at 16.

The max they can offer is lower than the max we can offer. So yes, we'll match. And should.

Not really. That's a terrible trade.

So you wouldn't be bothered that we traded CP3 for #10 and Aminu?

Do they? I've no doubt that teams do this with UFAs when you can put pressure on a rival with words that agents will gleefully sell to the rival for you, but for an RFA you have to actually commit to an offer. Last year I only remember 2 RFA offer sheets and in both cases Golden State and Houston had legitimate interest. Now I'm not saying they wouldn't have legitimate interest in Gordon for a max offer, just that they wouldn't do it just to make us pay more.

If Gordon is gonna cost the team 5yrs/$80million its worth considering, IMO
I dont think Gordon is a max deal player, you seem like you do... this is where we'll agree to disagree and forget about all this hypothetical trade shite
