Fans leaving early?

I have never commented on fans not cheering or fans leaving early before, but what I witnessed on Saturday night was just weird...and I'd love for anyone to explain this phenomenon.
LSU was only up by 2 points late in the 4th Quarter, and lots of LSU fans started exiting the section where I sit (which is in the West Upper). I don't understand...You sit and watch a great game for 3-4 hours, the game is not over yet, SC just scored a few minutes ago and you don't wait around for another 5 minutes to see the actual outcome of the game?

I have a couple who sit by me and do this every single game.........including Florida and Auburn 07. I just can't understand it.

Is this the weekly thread about fans leaving early? I'm in if it is. actually i think i know this answer. The tigers were winning when they left. Had we been losing by 2 they probably would stay. You see if usc would have somehow beaten us they didn't want to see it. If it was the tigers who had to make comeback they would have wanted to see that. So nothing to lose by leaving early.

I like it when the fans leave early.
All the uptight assholes are gone and the crowd left is much more relaxed and there to have a good time.
Towson was one of my favorite home games.

ETA: This isn't the, "it's your money do what you want" argument. This is the, "we're watching an awesome game, how do you leave" question.

maybe they want to give you more room to enjoy the end of the game...
This.
Was crowded as hell in the SEZ. 7-8 younguns who sat besides me (not usual people) left at halftime. maybe they went to the student section.... Anyway, glad they left.
Wish they would have taken the older know-it-all, disgruntled, former never-has-been footbal player who constantly spewed false and misleading comentary to his wife after every play with them.

At first I was about to tell you're full of shite, until I got to this part
quote:and then I was "nevermind". Because the only people I saw leaving early were the Carolina fans after the Hill td, which I thought was retarded because the game was still very much up for grabs at that point, if a long pass is completed to LSU's 30.

Miles commented in his press conference today that post-game traffic was so bad that he had trouble getting home.
Said it's the first time it's ever happened to him but that he'll gladly sit in traffic in return for the fans staying until the end.
So my guess is that few actually left the game on Saturday.

Old man and little kid right below me did this.
I heard him say "lets go beat traffic"
I can't say shite though, that's the first complete game I've stayed for in along time. I usually cut out at halftime

Yeah, it's kind of bittersweet. I can get fricking buck wild during big plays when I have all that room.

Well i don't know Bout some fans, but i was with a couple that has a young child with epilepsy. We screamed until we couldnt breathe through 3 quarters and 12 min, until the wife got a txt from her mother that the child was convulsing. While exiting the stadium, some drunk douche was screaming in peoples faces that they were terrible fans until some old man almost decked him. Luckily we made it to him with no trouble, and the kid was ok, but a gamecock nor a tiger were the first priority on their mind.
People need to realize that everything is not always as it seems, some people have responsibilities that far surpass LSU football. And some people just need to shut their fricking mouths

We left the bar at that point to get to our crazy late dinner reservations that we were already tardy for. It kept me from being nervous those last few minutes.

On this subject: To the "Family Guy" in section 301 row 54 seats 10-12 that passed the comment after halftime that "good thing the band is somewhat decent because the team is Disgusting w/ a capital D" and proceeded to exit the stadium.. I hope you slept good Saturday night knowing you are the sole reason why your two 10yr old son's didn't get to witness one of the better games/atmosphere in Tiger Stadium

Better this game than I've seen in a long time. The vast majority were there to the end.
