The NBA @ 50 All Time Top 50 Players List

Looking back, who would you add and take off of that list? Inside the NBA did a segment on this a few years back for the 60th anniversary and included the likes of Iverson and Garnett. 16 years later, which 16 would you add?

Could have sworn he was. Guess not.

and to answer your question, I would take off players like Arizin, Sharman, Archibald, DeBusschere to make room for Kobe, Garnett, etc

You're thinking of Shaq probably. He was put on his fourth season or around then, which as you said, was ridiculously early, although in hindsight he belonged

Off my head, Duncan, Iverson, Garnett, Lebron, Wade, Nash would be some of the 16 additional players.

Would Kidd make it on do you think?

Durant could blow out his knee and never play again. While a good career, it is still too early to include him. It is equivalent to adding Grant Hill to the list in 97.

Whats so funny?
I think Wade deserves the position of Top 25, dynamic all around scorer and one of the Top 5 SG ever, obe of the better perimeter defenders at his peak when hes healthy. Definitely benefited from the free throw line and rules changes but great player nonetheless.
Kobe in Top 18 is fair doesnt belong in the Top 10 too many holes in his legacy and his game has been exposed the last 2 seasons.

28/5/5 in his 16th season
27/5/6 in his 17th season
People really should have to pass an IQ test before being able to post.

I think it would be fair to add 10 guys, and make it the top 60 of all-time.
Duncan
Bryant
James
Nash
Kidd
Nowitzki
Garnett
Wade
All locks.
The last two spots are between the likes of McGrady, Pierce, Iverson, Webber, Paul, Carter, Howard, Anthony, etc. Or you could add Reggie Miller or somebody like that who played into these guys' era a little bit.
McGrady was the second best superstar wing in the league for a 2-3 year span, but he didn't do much for himself in the longevity department. The longer Pierce plays, the more impressive his career looks.
Paul hasn't played as long as a lot of these other guys, but he's clearly one of the greatest 5-7 point guards ever already, at the very least.
I'd probably go with Paul as the 9th guy if I had to pick one. If you don't think his career length/accomplishments warrant him being on that list yet, then you might look at someone else.
10th spot is between Pierce and Howard for me. I just think there are a lot better centers on the all-time list than Howard, so I hesitate to put him on there. I think Paul Pierce has had a very good career. I love C-Webb, too. That last spot is really a toss up to me.
Note: This is going off the assumption that guys like Durant, Rose, Love, etc. haven't been in the league long enough to be considered.

Iverson and Paul definitely from your list. Wade gets a bad rap. His game suffered the most when the big 3 formed. If he was on his own, he'd be putting up Harden numbers.

If wade was playing without lebron\bosh he would be putting up melo #'s

quote:A bit too early on CP3. He could pull a Mcgrady and end up not belonging. Iverson belongs on almost any list like this. He ruined his legacy a bit but he is still a legend. Wade already belongs on this list probably. His game will start deteriorating fast though IMO. He relies too much on a physical/athletic edge. He didn't develop his shot like Lebron.
