I've been rewatching The West Wing the last few weeks and it makes me realize how much I miss the Bartlett administration!

My favorite character is either CJ, Toby, Donna or POTUS.

I can't stand Josh though - typical Democrat.

Ahh anyway... just reminiscing!

Ah yes Ainsley... I LOVED her... I guess I thought if her more as just a guest character...

But among guests, Ainsley, Fitz and Lily Tomlin would have to rank very high!

Charlie
Donna
Sam
Ainsley
Leo
Josh
POTUS
Arnie Vinnick

CJ

Santos

Toby

I liked CJ, Santos, and Toby, but I also disliked them. Santos pissed me off. I really disliked the secretary that replaced Ms. Landingham. She sucked. Her gambling shtick was lame. They tried to hard to make her Ms. Landingham.

The first group is all pretty close.

Bonus guest star: John Goodman as President Walken

So damn true. See above post. Fidderer was a hack wanna be. Wish they woulda just made his secretary someone with a smaller role. Or just never replaced Ms. Landingham.

I hate Toby after Sorkin left. Before he was dour, but affable. After he was dour and sad.

I really liked her character, just not as much as Ms Landingham.

Agreed. I didn't agree with how Toby acted before, but he was likeable and had redeeming moments. After Sorkin left, he was unbearable. Just miserable. Almost cringed when hed come on screen.

He went on the whole tirade after something leaked in season 3, and then he leaks NASA stuff in season 7 because he disagrees with the President. Terrible.

I forgot about John Goodman - I just think they made his character too - idk... harsh maybe? They tried to make him look like the bad guy sometimes I thought.

But on Santos, he's one of the reasons I didn't like the last season. The West Wing became the B story line as all they began to focus on was the campaign. There WORST episodes are the ones where CJ and POTUS were not shown at all!

Yeah. I feel like the primary part of the Santos campaign dragged out a bit. Needed more White House story line. They had too much to juggle.

I was more intrigued by Vinnicks campaign during the general election. Alan Alda was perfect for that role.

I'm in the minority. I liked what they did with Toby.

He was always a bit of a miserable prick. The only thing I didn't like was having Andi turn down his proposal when he bought her the house. That was just damn mean.

Can't even imagine the humiliation and pain that would cause in real life.

Leo is my favorite. John Spencer was the man. I LOVE when Josh tried to hug him.

Maybe I misread that?

I also really like when Amy wakes Josh up, and he tells her to leave and call him because thats when the real conversation happens.

Phone rings, Josh answers "the first time was when you kissed me..."

"Josh, Im gonna stop you.."

It was hilarious when Josh went in for a hug. Josh had made an insensitive comment about a downed pilot. That comment got back to Leo who was pissed. Josh profusely apologized and tried to hug Leo. Comedy ensued.

That was classic. I really liked Amy's characters intersection with Josh. Josh had some of the best comedic moments.
