Vircurex & Cryptostocks compromised apparently with customers' wallets stolen.
LINK

There are other links reporting the same thing.

The btc-e message board predicts Vircurex will fold. It's the second major theft of their customers money this year.

Since all the transactions are 'untraceable' what's to stop tech-savvy thugs from opening an exchange and after some time hacking all their clients. Then just shutting the site down with their ill-gotten gain?

Crytography will stop them, Cryptography can do anything. You clearly don't understand the AWESOME POWER of cryptography. Cryptography cures cancer and aids. Cryptography removes tough stains. We are all a part of Cryptography, and cryptography is all a part of us.

If cryptography was a woman, I'd PIIHB. Cryptography gives me a boner.

Right now the hackers are attacking the Bitcoin exchanges because they must leave their e-wallet visible to everyone transferring Bitcoins to them for conversion to another currency. The hackers have a stationary target that is in plain view. Any merchant who accepts Bitcoins will eventually have to do the same, and will likewise become a target for hacking. Their one saving grace has been lack of sufficient Bitcoin transactions to make them worthwhile targets.

Can you imagine the effet on Bitcoins as a currency when it become known that merchants accepting Bitcoins are the targets of thieves?

But Wiki and Josh insist anarchy would be a good thing. How would people who just want to see destruction be dealt with in an anarchist system?
