Somebody give me the secret to get it right every time. Every once in a while a get them hard to peel. Is the cooling process a factor?

The closer to expiration date the better. Put eggs in a large pan, cover with cold water, add a tablespoon of baking soda, bring to a boil, cover pan, take off heat and let stand for 12 minutes.

Bring to sink drain water and replace with cold water and a few ice cubes. let cool enough to handle, peel, profit.

This works every time.Fact!

Put them in a put, cover them with tap water, bring them a boil, when they come to a boil, crack them with a spoon, boil them 5 more minutes and peel them under running water.

I raise chickens, this is how I boil mine and they always peel easy.

Tap water in boiler plus a teaspoon of salt. Put in eggs and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and cover with lid for 13 minutes. Drain and Jostle pot to crack the shells then run cold water over eggs to quickly cool. the water will migrate in between the membrane and boiled egg and they will peel easily when cool. I usually peel mine under running cold water. Always easy to peel this way.

your boiling method is your choice(boil the whole time or cut heat and cover) the time depends on the size of the eggs. Of course cold water and then ice.

Crack a small hole in both sides of the egg. Put one side to lips. Blow as hard as possible. Egg flys out, shell in hand.

Do the steps above to cool down. Then cut them in half before you start peeling.

Very simple...As soon as they are boiled, drain and immediately run cool water into pan to cool quick and peel when cool enough to handle. Mine always are an easy peel.

I agree with everything posted above...I boil, then cover for 16 minutes, followed by an ice bath. Perfect every time.
