Still not buying Vick as a mentor of any sort. He's become a much better teammate, but he's still lacks any natural leadership instinct.
Agree that he's a fine pick up as a backup.

Besides being black, they are not similar quarterbacks. Maybe from a life standpoint where he can steer Smith clear of the path he's taken, but not on the football field.
With that said, I like the move if Vick is the starter. They'll win more games with him at quarterback. And if Vick doesn't, he makes a solid insurance policy.

Might be the best thing for Smith. For a guy that can run very well, he always seemed reluctant to bolt-often leading to sacks, fumbles & picks. He'll be pressed by one of the all-time greats at that for his gig.
