Ebola or Full Blown AIDS tomorrow?

If you were to contract either tomorrow which would you prefer?
Ebola makes you famous
AIDS, not HIV but Full Blown AIDS, may allow you to live longer but you get little to no sympathy or acknowledgement

Ebola. So I could give it to everyone that keeps starting Ebola threads.

I thought this was about the LSU offense

don't know that, one of the Dallas Ebola docs was on a flu shot rampage on tv the other day, he threw that stat, and others, out there

Diarrhea of the mouth, like you

Plus that number is high.
Ebola kills 70% no matter how healthy. The number of healthy flu deaths is dramatically lower. It is more infectious thus it kills more unhealthy people.
I'd rather get the flu once a week than Ebola once.

Can I choose neither?

In West Africa....my guess is the mortality rate in the western world will be much lower.

Still would rather flu every week to Ebola once. Unless you have other problems or a weak immune system, flu will just make you sick, not dead.

My mom told me that tonight after the Clint Black show at Lauberge, he was shaking hands with fans, and would ask them if they had ebola, before he did

what % of people who get the flu die from it?

I'm white. Ebola don't want to frick with me. I saw AIDS kill Tom Hanks. So, I am going with Ebola.

Roughly 5% to 20% of the country gets the flu each year. Per interweb.
If only 5% catch it then 40,000 deaths is only .002.
Not just under 1% but way under 1%.
If the above average number they keep quoting came in a year when 20% get the flu then the percentage of deaths is even smaller than tiny.
.0006
Comparing Ebola to the Flu is laughable.
Doesn't mean we should panic over Ebola. If Ebola was transmitted as easily as the flu, we would already be dead.

I'm assuming you're a doc. That quote came from a doc, the one that's in charge of the Dallas Ebola mess. Take it up with him.
