How does this set up in the Star Wars universe?

Interesting title. Thought the 'The Ancient Fear' title would have been a little more right, but as long as the movie is good, they can call it Star Wars: The Cash Grab for all I care.

Sounds like a good way to reboot the franchise with all the new characters that will be coming onboard and to send the old characters out with a proper sendoff. Could this be the end of someone like R2D2, C3PO or Chewy?
