Would LSU/Alleva be a fool to offer Miles a new contract....

I dont think Miles has any leverage here whatsoever, but there have been stranger things happen. If the rumour mill really heats up, does Alleva offer Miles a "new deal" to stay and how bad would that piss off the fanbase?

Sounds to me like you do think Miles has leverage here.

based on an 8-4 season with increasing losses in each of the last 3 years?
YES.

You are turning into Rex.

So you think he would deserve a raise/extension?

He shouldn't. He in no way deserves a raise after 3 and 4 loss seasons.

It would not surprise me as Alleva seems very incompetent as an AD. Not sure he wouldn't fold under the pressure and throw some more at him.

Badly. A lot more fans don't believe in Miles than the pumpers here like to admit. If the prospect of an even more difficult buyout goes along with another year of an ineffective Jennings and poor showing in the West, you would see a lot more seats empty at Tiger Stadium. Nobody at LSU is going to be ok with empty seats in their freshly expanded 100k+ stadium.

I think you have become so obsessive on the subject of Miles that you are starting to resemble Rex.

Give him a deal with more money but only a 2 year deal. Basically pay him to leave on his terms

I replied in a thread someone else started. How is that obsessive?
You still didnt answer the question:

In no circumstance should he get a contract extension of any kind.

Miles has 1-2 good seasons in about 6 years. He has no leverage whatsoever other than it's a risk for LSU to go on a coaching search right now. He doesn't deserve a raise at this point but I'm sure LSU will still give him one. He's not going to Michigan. Anyone who thinks so is a fool.
LSU is not going to take the risk of seeing him leave. They make money off him and we always have the potential to be blow up in the SEC. You have no guarantees that someone can come in here and win except Nick Saban. Pretty much anyone else would be a risk because how many coaches have coached in the SEC? You could go and try to get someone who's already successful in the SEC but it's not happening. You can't even say it's a guaranteed success bringing in an NFL coach here.
It's too big of a risk to let him leave. For all the great storied programs who went out and spent big money to replace a great coach...how many have fallen and still not got back up?

Yes. A big fool.
And the worst part is that Alleva is such a pushover I wouldn't be surprised if he did give Les another raise and extension.

Pay him more, but drop the buyout and auto renewal, so we can can w/o having to pay him.

I thought that LSU dropped the auto renewal when Miles negotiated his latest contract after the Arkansas fiasco.

What is a "good season" by your definition?

I do agree with this, however.

An extension.... No
A raise..... If Michigan offers 5 we should totally match.
Is sumlin and Mark dantonio are making more than Les we have to stay competitive in the salary dept.
