I don't like the backsplash at all. Do love the exposed beams and wood grain cabinets.

ETA: And to nitpick, that white receptacle on the end of the cabinets doesn't fit at all.

EATA: Also don't like the trim detail at the bottom left corner of the bar... that's going to be kicked non-stop.

I think it's a cool look for a vacation home....not sure I would want that to be my everyday environment though.

Not a huge fan of modern design...but this is a happy medium almost...Though the backsplash is uglier than homemade sin ...I like it and would be ok living in it

I really love a lot of it, but really hate some of it. It is different.
the dual fireplace is awesome, but why divide the space?
The wood beams and floors are gorgeous, but the cabinet are hideous.
The back-splash is pimp, but I would get tired of it quick.

I love the backsplash. I'm not really a huge fan of the "open concept", but I think the house is well decorated.

I do agree that the walls should be a different color. It looks like a hotel lobby in the first picture.

Cabinets and back splash are ugly..

ETA: Also that light over the kitchen table.. I have one similar to that (came with the condo) and I can't wait till I stop being lazy and change it.

The backsplash and the two-toned cabinets have a fad-ish look, fad looks don't last long (and it's just ugly as shite). Tell them to look for something more classic that they won't want to be changing completely in 5 years.

Fashion > Fad

the kitchen just looks like something you would order from Ikea

and I'm fine with funky, different backsplashes, just not that one

There is a lot there that is "neat", but neat in a house usually means that it will get old quick
