I had the pleasure of attending the unveiling of Bob Pettit's Bronze Statue yesterday prior to the Florida basketball game.I grew up with Bob and watched him develop into one of the best players ever in college and the NBA. This well deserved honor was much too late coming. Most of the viewers did not see him play so can not realize what a great player he was.
I would like to suggest that you go to the Feb. 28 post which did have "Great video of Bob Pettit and look at this. Also you can google "Bill Simmons podcast with Bob Pettit". You really should know what a great player and person Bob Pettit was and is!

Had the please of meeting Bob Petit twice. Total class act.

I never saw him play, but he is a legendary top 50 all time player. The statue was long overdue for him, and rarely support the idea of any type of statue for sports performers.

That area is going to look incredible once the Maravich statue goes up.

Wish I would have known this was happening. Seeing a Tiger legend in person would be awesome.

I shoot in a pigeon shoot with Bob every fall. We were partners two years ago in the doubles event. Great person and a pretty good shot.

Bobs mom used to stay with my parents in Boston when the Hawks played the Celtics . I have introduced myself to him and he has fond memories of that and is always the polite gentleman.

A friend of mine's dad played ball with him at Baton Rouge High.

It's so weird to me that LSU has never been a basketball school and has produced 3 out of the top 50 players of all time.
