Bobby Bonilla

quote:

Bobby Bonilla celebrates on July 1st every year because he collects a paycheck from the Mets. Nevermind that he’s been out of baseball since 2001, but from 2011 through 2035, Bonilla will collect a cool $1,193,248.20 from the Mets.

That contract was brought up under the worst contract in sports thread. Terrible for the team, great for him and his family.

From a bargain standpoint I'm sure there were several rookie contracts in the nfl that panned out nicely. I think Richard Sherman was a pretty big steal at first.

After his 5th season, the Bulls resigned MJ to a 8 year deal worth $25 million.
