Kind of low energy question for Houston/TX voters

Yes, I know... melt, cuck, etc.
Took a look at my sample ballot and there will naturally be A LOT of R going on in my ballot.
But got to the Proposition One line item for HISD. Basically, HISD would send $162M to the state this year because we are a property wealthy area. I would be disinclined to vote for it, but I watched a video put out by the teachers slamming it, and the case they made was pretty flimsy and whiny.
Does anyone have any insight or opinions on this?

Hisd already had to redistribute wealth even though most of the kids that attend are generally poor.
It's authorization to pay the Robin Hood recapture. HISD is now a rich kid school district that must pay so the state can give the little guy some funding.
Yes = HISD pays the robin hood fee to the state and the district sends an estimated $160 million check to the state, and again each year after that in likely increasing amounts.
No = HISD tells the state to frick off, but the state basically takes action to remove some of HISD's property and align it with another school district.

I'm not in HISD but is that an offshoot of the Robin Hood bullshite?

Our ISD put forth a bond this year to make up for the $$$ we send to state now. It was voted down. People are personally buying things for their specific schools as donations now as there have been cost cuts. Vote against it.

I'm inclined to always vote against whatever the teachers' union is for.

In this case, the teachers union is correct.

You mean Houston Independent School District?
Why in the world would you vote for the redistribution of YOUR money? You paid that property tax either directly or via your rent. It should stay where you live.

I voted NO. Did not like the idea of my tax money going anywhere but HISD.

A yes vote sends money elsewhere, so....no

I can't believe this is even a question on the ballot. Does the next ballot item say "Would you like to be shot in the face?"
Posted on 11/8/16 at 12:19 pm to Lou Pai
Dude, why are you cucks so willing to give up your money?

A yes vote means HISD cuts a check to the state but keeps the highest taxed properties on the rolls. There is a smaller tax that pays back bonds that would be lost if a property is reallocated to another district.
A no vote means a check is not cut and the state will start taking the highest taxed properties and assign them to other districts which means those property owners will pay a higher rate. It also means that HISD loses the smaller tax. So, in fact, if No wins, HISD loses $162 million for recapture and another $30 million that just disappears because the property won't pay back the bond.
"No" proponents are hedging that the property owners will raise such a fuss at paying higher taxes that the state will have to fix the system.
Personally, I never want to give up an asset so I support the Yes side.

I don't currently own, I rent like the yuppies. :coco2:
But point taken. It's just their video was so whiny and didn't follow a cogent line of thought. I don't care about the kids learning English or the teachers getting their bacon. Part of me would almost rather some kids in a real American place like Odessa that is hurting get some of the cheddar.

The proposition isn't a question of whether it happens, it's happening. It's a question of how it happens. Does the hisd pay the ransom or does the state redistrict shite.
There is a movement to fight the Robin Hood law, a vote against us a vote for that fight.
So no good options baw
