Observation About Tactical Change During Mexico Game

This is not my own observation. It's from the guys that do the Total Soccer Show podcast. They noticed that during a stoppage in play, Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones went over to Klinsmann and had a conversation with him and seemingly told him the 3-5-2 wasn't working. Immediately afterwards the formation was changed away from the 3-5-2. They specifically made the point that Klinsmann didn't seem to call the players over, but rather they went over and talked to Klinsmann and he stood there with a blank, confused look on his face. So the players have to make the tactical observations and adjustments because the coach is incapable of doing so. If you've never listened to their podcast, these guys are very positive and rarely if ever call for a coach to be fired, and even they both said they wouldn't be upset if he was fired and they wouldn't miss his style of minimal tactical instruction.
ETA: They also said they think the 3-5-2 could work for the USMNT but specifically "I never want to see the 3-5-2 again while Jurgen Klinsmann is the coach" because they don't think he's capable of providing clear instructions to the players and drilling a new formation in practice.

Like LaRon Landry and Ronnie Prude telling Miles/Pelini to frick off with the zone coverage

When Mexico midfielder Andres Guardado went down injured in the 26th minute, it was like a boxer being saved by the bell. It allowed both Bradley and Jones to walk over to Klinsmann and plead with him to change the formation. Bradley barely hesitated when asked who suggested the formation change, Klinsmann or the players: "I think ultimately it was among us all. It was clear that it made sense to change." Loosely translated, it was the players. Credit Klinsmann for going along with it, but he never should have put his team in such an awkward situation in the first place.

I agree with this. Disappointed about the result last night but it showed that this coach is not capable of vomiting out anything more complicated than a 4-4-2.

It was Jesse Daniels who pleaded with Pelini to blitz too.
