Federico Macheda. I remember watching his first goal with Man United circa 2008-2009 at only 17. Kid was supposed to be the goat. He couldn't even cut it in the championship and is now playing Serie B in Italy.

I don't understand guys like Macheda. He scored a sick goal for united to help win a game against Villa when Brad Freidel was playing for them. He looked like he was comfortable playing in that league. I wonder, besides injury problems, what could make a player who is so successful at a young age flame out so quickly.

You guys member Michu? Ankle injuries derailed his career. He is currently playing in the Spanish second division for Real Oviedo where he has 3 goals in 15 apps this season.

Didn't Michu freely choose to go play in the lower Spanish tier to be able to play with his brother or something like that?
