Canada's offense he ran last year at Pitt will be perfect for Etling

With all the miss direction I know he is limited but he is smart and accurate on short throws, and is a good enough athlete to get out the pocket and get a few first downs. His arm strength comes in the question on the long play action deep throws,or long developing routes. With Guice, the miss direction, and crossing routes. It will open a lot of 15 to 20 yard routes he can be accurate at. I think the senior Etling is going to surprise a lot of people this year. I think he is going to finish at the top of the SEC.

He did that last year, except for the running to pick up first downs part. If he starts, he has to do better with deep passing in order to get this team where it wants to go.
The best defenses last year shrunk the field and dared us to go deep. We know the result.

I look forward to seeing Jacory Washington and Guice used as targets in the passing game. We may be approaching a new era in LSU offensive football... an era in which the ball is distributed, via forward pass, to multiple receivers, tight ends, backs, fullbacks, all in one quarter.
The 1970s offensive approach carried this team so fricking far for so fricking long- and successfully most of the time, though absolutely nerve wracking. I can't imagine the fun it will be to see our superb athletes in a modern, intelligent, misdirection based spread.

He ran for first downs plenty of times last year, or at least for a decent gain.

This is the first and last play in the Mile's "secret trick play" book

So, a gimmick offense. (sarcasm)

So sad that lsu fans didn't even know there was another brand of offense. Miles really put his stamp on y'all.

Fullbacks and Tight ends will be used a lot more in his offense. So I think it will help guys like Ducre and Moreau.
He uses multiple guys at both positions and those shovels and runs to this positions usually go for touchdowns or at least 10 yards. JD Moore will still be on the field ams will get some touches but Ducre and Moreau will be weapons

It's also possible that Canada did that because it's what he has. LSU has so much talent and depth at WR I really wouldn't be surprised if we saw a drop in TE and FB usage. (Well I guess it's almost impossible to have more TE and FB usage that last yeah. But significant drop).

Toss dive to the right instead of the left would be insanity!! (and throw in an extra wrinkle like tight end in motion then shuffling back to the side he came from. Bad arse)

I fully expect etling to bring his lunch pail to work this off season. I mean, the dude has a motor that don't quit and he's just like having your offensive coordinator on the field.. I love having a natural pocket passer back there. He's gritty and has a high IQ.. #HesmyQB

Etling is a more-than-serviceable QB for this team. It's amazing that some posters on here down him as much as they do.

It's not that we didn't know, those of us who wanted Miles fired A LONG TIME AGO were far outnumbered by the ones who were "OUR COACH MILES".
Y'all have yet to give it an entire year before saying dumb shite "He really put his stamp on y'all" and "Dont you mean WHEN Orgeron fails". If there has been no change by the end of the next season, then we can start making proclamations.

Brennan may need to redshirt. So does Narcisse. Otherwise it's Danny Etling. Unless the kid from Zachary is ready to get meaningful snaps. Other than that there's really no other QB worth mentioning.
