If you stand in line at midnight....maybe.

I have one preordered from Target (it was the only thing left at 4am on that morning), and I still might try to walk into Target and get one at 8am if they don't ship it today.

I think you want to do the off-brand stores or less popular, non-midnight launches - Target, FYE, etc. Costco is an outlier as well.

I guess this is where it might be beneficial to live in Seattle as that is Nintendo's HQ so maybe they will have more in stock around here but at the same time demand will probably be higher.

Walmart, Best Buy, and GamesStop are supposed to have walk up units for purchase. I'd guess that Walmart is your best bet since so many are open 24/7 you might be able to just go around midnight.

I'd rather streak down the Pike Place Pier naked wearing a Sombrero than go to the nearest Wal Mart around here at midnight. It's ghetto

I'll probably have to try Target or Gamestop

Yes, just go to a podunk Wal-Mart in a rural area. That's what I typically do for new consoles on release day.

Is Golden Meadow, La rural enough?

Gonna be tough. Nintendo loves their artificial shortages.

I heard, and someone correct me if wrong, that individual target stores did not take any preorders. The preorders were only online. So every single target will get some shelf stock. Most targets are not 24 hours. So you might have some luck if you go to target right when they open at 8 or whatever.

Not sure if true. This was my buy-switch plan before I decided to just grab Zelda for Wii U.

Edit: Double checked, confirmed. I would stick with Target unless you wanna try BB midnight release. Top is target, bottom BB ads from this week.

It will be very difficult. I'm not surprised retailers aren't making dumb bundles with high margin items to get people in.

I talked to my local target. They're starting a line and will hand out tickets to the first however many people are there to match the switch stock for when they open at 8. Solid chance they'll be gone right at 8.

That's the problem, some of these places will only start with 10 units, maybe less.

Someone on the Switch subreddit told me (grain of salt here....) that his dad is a Target Manager in a middle-sized town in Indiana, and he said his Target had 18 units
