"Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.
Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.

But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed.

Damascus has recently facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which President Obama has described as crossing a red line. But Ms. del Ponte’s remarks may serve to shift the focus of international concern."

Nothing to see here folks, move along......

Everybody was kung fu fighting, those fists were fast as lightning....

7 major players involved in Syria and reports of 11 minor factions additionally. Great place to get even more involved.

This article may be old as hell but its the same trick the rebels, neocons, democrats and McCain are using to lure President Trump into a war.

If he's stupid enough to fall for it and actually go after Assad, he will lose a lot of support from his base.

It tells us the rebels- whomever they were in 2013- likely had nerve gas.

It also tells us there are no good guys, even if Assad was the source of the most recent nerve gas use.

No amount of muh feels should matter in the decision for kinetic action.

I think this means the conspiracy theorists are now doing the same thing that they did in 2013.

Unlikely, if the victims are to believed. They indicated it came from aircraft. The rebels have no aircraft in their arsenal.

It doesn't matter.

We have nothing to gain and a whole lot to lose from boots on the ground against the Assad Regime.

The official UN report on Ghouta issued in September of that year and had 20+ officials signing off. I'm not gonna give higher weight to one TV interview from one official 6 months before the evidence was sufficient to draw conclusions.

I hate to be the one to break it to you junior, but the agenda since 9/11 has included the ousting of Assad. Trump will carry through that Fascist globalist establishment agenda just as Bush and Obama did before him.

I'm not sure what it's going to take for you people to wake up to the fact that the two-party system is fake news. You kids cling to this fantasy like the Santa Claus myth.

The OP needs to change the title of this thread to begin "4 years ago . . .".
Highly misleading!
