I have one year left and was thinking about moving somewhere in Asia after. Possibly Shanghai. Any reason why I shouldn't? No debt or responsibilities holding me back.

Uh yeah. Plenty. What are you graduating in? Are you fluent in Mandarin? Are you familiar with the culture? Do you potentially have a career path lined up? Etc

Move to Bangkok instead. Low cost of living and the people are pretty nice.

Shanghai is one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in.

Graduating in Finance. This wouldn't be for the rest of my life but rather a year-like excursion.

Edit: typo

I you must go. Definitely move to Singapore where they speak English. That will get you adapted into Asian culture.

Personally, I'd prefer to live almost anywhere else.

I would spend a lot of time familiarizing myself with the laws of Singapore. It isn't the place to go frick around and act a fool.

Bruh. You're out of your mind if you think you're going to get Mandarin down in a year

Are you into Asian culture or something? Why not Australia or Switzerland or maybe a small island like Fiji?

Move to Taipei. Taiwanese love Americans and it's a freedom loving democracy.

I was in Switzerland this spring and it's a bit expensive. Especially if I'm on a tight budget. I'm not expecting to learn Madarin in a year or anything. Just want to explore a part of the world I've never been to before I have too many things tying my down.
