Read Comic Online is a great free resource for free digital scans of comics to read for free.

LINK

Most major story lines from all the major publishers are available and the search function actually works!

I use Comixology and Marvel Unlimited apps. Both are nice, though not free

Awesome thanks!

I haven't read comics since about 1995 so this cool. Every once in a while I'll pull out a random Thor or Xmen and kind of wonder how they're doing.

Just in the last few weeks I've read/re-read some huge storylines.

Fear Itself
Blackest Night
House of M
Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men
Civil War
Hush
Identity Crisis
All Star Superman

Maybe I'm weird but I really enjoyed random Thor comics from the 80s. Usually self contained stories with no huge consequences. And I loved Claremont's Xmen.

All of that is available on that site. Their catalog is really amazing.

Will certainly check this out. I've been looking for a free resource since they cost to buy has gotten out of hand. I still purchase trades for the story arcs I love though

I know what you mean, I used to read and collect comics back in the day but the price is just too rich for my blood now.

It really is incredible what that site has. I've read the entire 52-book run of the Justice League (2011, I think).

Got current on Superman and am working on the merged Marvel worlds.

As near as I can tell, it has everything outside of the most current issues of ongoing series.

Re-read Fraction's Hawkeye this weekend. I'm about to re-read Preacher. (I have this in book form, but I it's so easy to read them digitally).

Walter Simonson is one of the greats. You're not alone in liking this run, but he also did things like Beta Ray Bill and having a frog become Thor.

Had to research that I read that correctly. I remember Thor being turned into a frog but completely missed out on Throg.
