Where Would the USMNT Rank in UEFA

If the USMNT played in UEFA where would they be? Not top 5-10, but top 20? Would they qualify for the Euros regularly, and if they did would they make it out of their group? Make it to the World Cup regularly?

Depends on the draw in the qualifiers. Would make the Euros most times now with the expanded field. Would be a chore to qualify for the WC. Would probably bat 50/50 on that.

If we were a United State sized country located in Europe then I'd think we'd be kinda, sorta good.

We've shown we can compete with Belgium and Portugal in meaningful games, guess I'm curious as to how we stack up to the mid-tier European teams and how we would do over an extended time playing them.

We have played up in big spots but we also play down to our opponents at times as well. I think it would be a struggle most of the time.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. Assuming that the demographics and all the other sporting advantages we have would be the same as they are now, and assuming soccer would be our one and only sport of note like the rest of Europe. The answer to the question is easy, we would dominate like no one in the sport ever has. Club and International levels.

England/Switzerland tier. Not on the skill level of a France/Germany/Spain/Belgium but could consistently get results over time against the Czech Republic's and Croatias of the world- we'd be in the middle of that second tier with them below the elite countries, but not in the third tier

While I agree with you on pretty much all of that, I think Croatia would beat us 6(-ish) out of 10 times.

Croatia is a weird one for me. They're like a middle class mans Belgium. Great individual talent, arguably the best midfield in the world, but don't get great results. They've only been eligible for 5 world cups. A third place finish, failure to qualify in South Africa, and three group stage exits.

We'd be in the bottom tier. No way the US would beat any of those teams on a consistent basis. Look at Wales or Sweden, the US has never had the talent of a Bale or Ibrahimovic.

One superstar doesn't automatically make a team competitive. Greece won the Euros with a squad that doesn't have the overall talent of the current USMNT. Portugal won the euros this year and we're 2-2-2 against them all time, and the last match took a world class pass in the final seconds by one of the greatest players of all time to salvage a point. They haven't beaten us in two tries this century.
Granted they were all friendlies, we're 4-4 against Sweden and 1-0 against wales. Sure, we'd drop some games in that bottom tier, but I think we'd get more results than not.

soccer will be the benefactor of the sad but inevitable downfall of American football. Pro/Rel isn't the missing link for being competitive internationally, it's having a wider pool to draw from, which will happen as more and more parents push their kids away from football. There are countries with minuscule domestic leagues and minuscule populations that produce great national teams, because all the kids there play soccer
