His skills have regressed a bit, but I hope he can serve as a mentor to the younger players on the pitch.

Im interested to see how he's used. Maybe in that old Stephen Naismith role.

If nothing else I think he'll be a good face for Everton's brand as they throw money around and try to move up in the world.

I do think he'll probably show he has a little life left and shine in some moments for EFC. Leadership and a handful of storybook spots is what I expect.

It's a sentimental free transfer. Doesn't really tank their summer or anything like that.

Doesn't really seem like a Koeman move but I don't doubt he'll enjoy having Wazza at his disposal especially with Rom out the door. Mirallas is still the GOAT

Is that confirmed?

Sky was reporting it today when Rooney arrived for his medical.

Wayne is now an average EPL player. He'll be a squad player. There's a reason he went on a free transfer.

I mean, he's 31 years old... I think he still has something left.

His demise has been greatly exaggerated. He had a bad season. He's 31 years old, not 38. Lots of mileage on those 31 yr old legs, granted. But he's still a fantastic player who will probably be playing with a bit of a chip this season. He's far more than simply an average Premier League player. That's ridiculous. I could easily see him having a bounce back year of sorts. I hope so, at least. He deserves it after all the shite he's dealt with from retarded English fans and journalists.

He's one of the truly great players of this generation.

Also, that's retarded. Bad games here and there, sure. But I've never thought of him as that type of player.

If true, the Lukaku-Rooney swap makes tons of sense

Koeman said today he's going to play an attacking role. If Barkley leaves (looks likely) that opens up a big spot for him. Obviously Lukaku is gone so we need goals. I still like him in that Naismith role, similar to where Landycakes played at Everton.

He just scored a pretty good goal in the 34th min of his first match. I think a 32 year old Rooney is probably too good for Everton.

He's going to try and play out of his mind to get in that England squad.

I hope Rooney gets a free role behind the striker. While he had his best seasons as a lone striker for United, moving to a no. 10 role would be a good fit, as long as his defensive responsibilities are limited.
