Who would want any other breed if you are in need of a compact watch dog?
Of course if you have room for a behemoth, you can get one of those Sabre-toothed tiger sized dogs, but pound for pound, weiner dogs embarrass the competition.

You are woefully misinformed about the breed

Because that would imply that a ranking is necessary.

It goes without saying that dachshunds dominate the competition.

Nope have had 2 of them.

Hated the little barking bastards. That's what all little dogs do. They bark. All the time.

Because rat terriers aren't nearly as prone to health problems, are a lot smarter, and aren't limited by their short stature. Plus, they're hyper sensitive to outsiders. Just an all around great dog, that also happens to be one of the very longest lived breeds. 20 healthy years is not uncommon for a rat terrier.

Don’t have experience with them. But since they literally have RAT in their name, I’ll have no part of them.
Kidding. That’s a helluva life span.
