Best place to watch the stars in New Orleans

Where is the best place to star gaze in the GNO? The lakefront? On the levee somewhere along the river?

Someplace dark so I’d recommend New Orleans East

Get north of Slidell / covington

Pearlington ms is really dark and pretty good. Just east of Slidell

This light pollution map shows where the brightest and darkest areas are. You'll barely see any stars in the white and red areas.

I’m not sure how accurate that map is. It has some spot labeled yellow that I’ve been to where the stars are just incredible on a cloudless night.

The Fly, behind the Audubon Zoo. That is if they let you go back there after dark. Carry a pistol.

My son plays baseball there.....I always thought it was semi-safe. Good to know.

Pelicans playoff games had a few stars. When the All-Star game is in town is probably the best.
