The NFL on Wednesday approved a new policy to intercept national anthem protests before they happen, according to the league.
The measure mandates that players who are on the field must stand for the national anthem but can remain in the locker room if they choose.

And if the teams do emerge and players kneel, officials could assess a 15-yard penalty, the outlet wrote, citing unnamed sources.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell noted in a statement Wednesday that “on-field protests created a false perception among many that thousands of NFL players were unpatriotic.”
“This season, all league and team personnel shall stand and show respect for the flag and the Anthem,” he said. “Personnel who choose not to stand for the Anthem may stay in the locker room until after the Anthem has been performed.”

There will be threads started for every game listing who didn't come onto the field for the anthem.
It will still be a clusterfrick.

It's all about the money and the NFL was losing too much of it.

Can Odell Beckham Jr still remain on his knees in the locker room prior to the game?

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out across the country at other high schools and universities.

Well it's a private company and they can set policy as they see fit as long as it's legal.

It's enough to make national news...so I'm sure someone cares about it.

Darn. What will the Prez distract the masses with now that the NFL has become un-American?

All I give a frick about is Wins and Losses for the Black-n-Gold.
And if our players get in real trouble off the field.

The NFL is about 2 years too late on this one.
