He’s my number 2 receiver, behind reek hill, and I have hogan in the flex. I’ll have Edelman back after suspension, but man, I’m just not excited about Baldwin. Anybody think he’s gonna be okay this year in a 1 ppr league?

I got him in the 4th round so I feel the value was right

Baldwin when healthy always seems to produce Top 15 WR numbers. He has a good connection with Russell. If the pass pro in Seattle is decent he might put up better numbers than Hill over the course of the season while being more consistent week to week.

I’m down on both Hill & Baldwin. But high on Hogan

Did you land a top TE? And I hope this is a 12+ team league

Baldwin might be fine. I did grab Lockett late in both of my leagues though, in case Baldwin's hobbled and Lockett takes a bigger role.

He’s 80 or 85%. So he’s not fine

I love Baldwin, but he's playing on a bum knee this season. I avoided him as his price tag was too high considering that.

I am super high on him. Most people that got him in drafts stole him in the 4th or 5th rounds, due to worry about his knee. His target shares the past three seasons have been 22%, 24%, and 22%. During those three seasons, only Antonio Brown has more TD receptions. Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson are both gone now! I think his target shares go up and he will be targeted like crazy in the endzone. He obviously has more value in PPR, but damn if it isn't a recipe for a top 5 fantasy year. I have him in all my leagues.

As far as the knee goes, if you read his whole quote about him not being 100% all season this year; he said he hasn't been 100% since he started playing football as a kid. I'm not that worried, if anything he will sit out in some practices but play every game.

In the 4th round the downside is priced in and the upside (upside based on vacated targets from Richardson/Graham and a more pass heavy game script) isn’t. He can definitely be a WR1 if he plays 16 games, even if he is 80-85% and not 100%

Yep. Taken out of context. I’ll leave this here

quote:

Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson’s exits vacated a whopping 37 red-zone targets, including 21 inside the ten-yard line. After Graham tore his patellar tendon in 2015, Baldwin logged an otherworldly 94/1,308/24 receiving pace over Seattle’s final eight games, including the playoffs

All the years of following sports (I assume at least) and you can’t pick out player-speak?

He hasn’t played all preseason. Has he specified if, at all, he has missed camp in college or in the pros before a regular season?

He has stated he is 80-85%. He mentions that he has always played hurt. Ok, fine. But going into a season not 100% is a problem. The middle of a football season isn’t the best time to get healthy

Only people I hear talking him up are the ones that drafted him. Is he in a good situation? Absolutely. Will his injury likely affect his play & only get worse? Yes to that too.

I think if you have him as a WR3 you are in good shape. Counting on him to be a WR1 or 2?? I’m not liking thay

I have hin but, I’m a little concerned with him. I am tempted to play James Conner over him as a flex.

He practiced in full on Wednesday. That’s good enough for me.

This seems to be the public consensus. I own both in multiple leagues at discounted auction prices. I'm a little nervous about Baldwin long term, but I'm starting him without hesitation this week.

Baldwin at 85% vs Chris Harris would make me nervous.

Idk what the 85% means. What's he got to gain by giving away that he's not 100. Was AP 100% the year he came back from the ACL and ran for 2k? Yeah it's just one example, but I guess my point is that guessing his ability is gonna be tough. Baldwin is also gonna get force fed, no one else to garner a major target share. Conceivable he gets to 150 targets..

Like I said, everyone is ignoring the context and hammering home “85 percent!” “85 percent”

It’s a lazy argument

Now his matchup with Chris Harris could be another story

I get the concern, I wouldn't have paid wr1 or high 2 price for him. However, it's either him or Stills/Benjamin in 2 leagues. I can paint the picture where those 2 guys get a bunch of work and out produce Baldwin, but I don't have the stones to sit a guy like Baldwin until I see him struggle.
