If you have Bell, you hold him as a handcuff. Sitting out this long could possibly cause Bell a strain or pull or something.
If you don't have Bell, try to trade him to the Bell owner.

Is it a sure thing that Bell is coming back? If so, think he'll get the bell cow workload ROS?

Dont have bell. So that leaves me with connor, miller and collins as RBs outside of my main starting rbs of gordon and jones.

Interested what others are doing as well. I have Conner in two leagues. I just sent out a few trade proposals in both leagues trying to package him with another player for a top receiver.
Even with his decline in production, he has a good match-up this weekend against Atlanta. I am hopeful that his high point projection this week will spur someone with a team in desperation mode sitting 0-4 or 1-3 to overlook Bell’s imminent return. If I don’t get any bites, I may just ride it out to the end.

From what Jeremy Fowler said on ESPN this morning, he is coming back during the week 7 bye week and plans on being a big part of the team and winning games. Sounds like he just didn't want to put 400 carries on his body without a long term deal.

Michel would be my ideal target but after last week his owner may not want to part with him
Beyond him I would put feelers on Dion Lewis, Lindsay, Kerryon, A Jones, etc. Someone along those lines and see if any of their owners bite.

I unloaded Connor after his first big game to the Bell owner and got back Davante Adams
I then got Bell from the (now) Conner owner after the news broke last week that Bell probably wouldn't play this year.

I'm a Conner, but not Bell owner. I was looking to trade him to the Bell owner today, but then got to looking and debating with the owner and I'd honestly rather just keep him for the next 2 weeks and hope he performs rather than trade him for what's being offered. After that, I'll either hold him or try to trade him cheap to the Bell owner.
I know he's a ticking time bomb, but it doesn't look like I can get anyone back for him that will be as good as Conner during the next two weeks, so I'm just gonna ride the wave out.
So I guess that's the long way of saying, try to trade him to the Bell owner for a good player (RB/WR2) you can use ROS. If you can't do that, just hold.

My RB story this year has been pretty interesting to follow. Drafted Bell and McKinnon as my top 2 backs...only to not have both for week 1. Ended up being able to trade JuJu for James White & Drake before week 1 (they guy really wanted JuJu badly...good call by him). I was able to snag Conner off of waivers so that saved me.
Fast forward to week 3 and I was able to pull off a trade to send Bell, Nelson Agholor, and James White in exchange for Antonio Brown. Pretty pumped considering I now have Diggs, AJ Green, and Brown locked in for WR and flex each week.
News comes out this week about Bell coming back...which coincides with Sony Michel breaking out (who I was able to draft in the 12th round). I've now been able to work out a deal to exchange Conner for James White if/when Bell does come back so both owners can handcuff our top RB's.
It's been a strange but fun ride so far. Also got Lindsay and Aaron Jones off of waivers so things are looking up in the RB dept for me. If you can get that trade of Conner for Thompson you mentioned, I'd take it and not look back.
