I’m up 1.5 points going into tonight. Opponent is done I have Will Lutz. Should I bench him and play no kicker in case he pulls a “Crosby” and misses multiple FG’s to secure the win?
Anyone ever benched their kicker or defense in a similar situation?

Crosby played like shite and still didn't end up with negative points.

I saw that but at one point he was -3 or -4. It would suck to lose like that.
I’m gonna roll with Lutz in my line up though. It’s highly unlikely and he will probably at least get 5 points. Every point counts sometimes for playoff spots.

Hell week 10 I probably won’t be playing a Few different positions

I’ll have 5 starters on bye and we only have 4 bench spot

As long as stat corrections don't erase your lead then that's the safe move. Odds are your kicker won't end up with negative points but it still can happen. Sit him and seal the win.

I’ve done it before. But what if it’s comes back to bite you and you miss a tiebreaker by 7 pts end of season? Just a thought, there is a negative to this. That said, I’d bench him

Kicker should be relatively safe.

I've done it with a defense, though.

This thread is a great demonstration of why kickers are stupid in fantasy

This is always the case. I give the same example every time this topic comes up. I got the last playoff spot 2 years in a row by less than one point. One year, I was getting my arse kicked after Thursday night and no chance at winning, but someone dropped Cameron Artis-Payne and Stewart was out on Monday night. I spent $15 of my FAAB to get him and he got me 22 points and I dropped him the next week. Paid off in the end.

As soon as he missed, I thought of this thread. I would feel like total arse if he somehow had negative points. He's just too good for that.

Are there a lot of leagues where you lose points for missed extra points? I’ve always played espn where default settings don’t lose points for extra points, only for field goals.

Every league that I can remember playing in is -1 for missed XPs other than the bullshite free practice leagues that I do on ESPN. I'm not sure about those.

no. If OP wants to chance it and hope that there are no stat corrections, he can do what he pleases.
