I was surprised she turned against him.

edit: my intention isn't to praise or condemn either Trump or Coulter. I was just fascinated by how harshly she is now criticizing him, given that she so strongly supported him.

yesterdays news, but trump's had quite a bit of success.

the wall not getting built is everything but his fault, and same with immigration. he's got people IN HIS OWN PARTY speaking out against him for fricks sake.

only knock on him I have thus far is him signing the stupid omnibus bill.

She really isn't.....she's telling him to go "all in" on the wall and shutdown the Government until he gets the $$$$$.

Shutdown the government when Republicans have been in power for 2 years and didn’t fund the wall?

Was it not his fault to promise that Mexico would pay for it?

She hasn’t “turned against him” she just wants him to build the wall, which is reasonable. It’s really not even his fault it’s congress.

She strongly supported him because of his stance on immigration and promise to build the wall. I agree with Coulter completely on this. Trump needs to build the wall.

She never said this. She did keep saying that he hasn't measured up to Reagan. I don't recall Reagan shutting down the government.

She was, however, letting everyone know that she's sick and tired of his excuses. "it used to be easy to defend him against the charge that he is just a BS-ing con man who would say anything to get elected." That's pretty savage.

You're making her point for her. You just used the excuse she's accusing him of falling back on. The campaign promise was, "I'll build the wall and Mexico will pay for it", not "I'll build the wall if Congress will give me the money."

If you read his book "The Art of the Deal" you will better understand the President. I am pretty sure that was an intentional over-statement. He does it just about every time he speaks. Sometimes it's a troll, other times it's round 1 in a negotiation.

This isn't the first time she's written an article about Trump and the "lack of wall".......by going all in, a shutdown is always an option.

You're right. When was shutting down the government ever a political win for the party that did it? It sure blew up in Gingrich's face.

I’m not arguing against her....so me making her point for her isn’t really a surprise.

There is some truth here...is the word "wall" a metaphor or not? If he means it as a metaphor...the "wall" could be increased electronic surveillance, more manpower, etc...but for many of his supporters, that's not good enough.

You're right, and I've read some of her previous columns, but this one is the most scathing I've read. Again...not saying everything she's said is right or wrong...I'm just surprised by it.

She's trying to kick him in the arse about it; she (and a lot of others) want him to make this his #1 priority.

I think that remains to be seen. I think we are already headed toward a combination of both. (He was overstating with the hope of a suitable compromise). People do this every day in negotiations. I believe in Trump's mind, he'd be happy with either and in the end so will his supporters.

I was actually referring to the "Mexico will pay" portion.
