There is better advice on this board than what Berry can provide

I mean he admits he’s not some brilliant expert that knows way more than the average fan, he just happens to be a good writer that has had things go his way to become so well known.

After reading this board year after year, I’d estimate that over half of the fantasy consumer has a rudimentary understanding of the game. This kind of info has an audience.

Especially with how popular its gotten, you have soccer moms and grandparents playing in leagues now.

A Matthew Berry for sure has an audience.

Exactly

These people aren't reading dedicated fantasy sites. They see a link to his stuff while checking ESPN and go with that. Makes them better off than reading nothing

In this case, what was he supposed to say? Ware was the clear choice to be the lead back on a great offense versus a bad team. There's only so much you could really say about him this week.

There's kind of a ceiling for the usefulness of fantasy analysis at times. Sometimes it's just captain obvious shite, but they still expect you to have a take.

Exactly. His main audience is people who know jack shite about football but play fantasy for social reasons. Those type of people probably didn’t know who the hell Spencer Ware was before this week.

Sorry but what do you expect?

Like him or not, he’s one of the primary people that brought fantasy to the forefront, and he is self deprecating as hell when he gets a call wrong.

But you go ahead and sit behind a computer and mock him. It’s a good look for you.

I get berry's audience...The one I don't get is the John Hansen guy on direct tv's Fantasy Zone or the "fantasy guru"

He comes off like a complete idiot, do people really pay that guy for info? Kay Adams seems to know more than he does by a wide margin.

John Hansen is terrible. Jeff Mans is actually pretty good though.
